Aforeground is proposed in front of the Shiva temple and is provided
with amenities like congregational and interactive areas by introducing
‘kattas’ and a ‘kund’.
Acommunityarea is proposed beside the temple. This space is covered by a tensile
structure. People gather hereto interact and it can also act as a play area for small
kids. Temporary stalls are also provided.
Sinceit is a dense fabric with mostly residential structures as train houses, Lung
spaces are introduced in between so that air flow in and out of the buildings
happens.

Atsome places the ‘katta’ is transformed in to a cycle
stand. Otherwise it can be used as a normal seating
area.

14. -Forpublic lavatories provision of Sulabh flush compost toilet
whichis eco-friendly, technically appropriate, socio-culturally
acceptable and economically affordable.
-And the toilet can easily be constructed by local labour and
materials.
-It provides health benefits by safe disposal of humanexcreta
on-site.
-Thereare two pits of varyingsize and capacity depending on
thenumberof users.
-The capacity of each pit is normallydesigned for 3 years
usage. It has a high potential for up gradation, and can be
easily connected to sewers when introduced in this area.

area remains clean which is presently
unhygienic.
-Thetraffic inthe neighboring
residential area is reduced by
providing this parking.
-Bylocating the parkingin this area
it is seen to it that the immediate
residents wont be disturbed, as they
don’t open their backyards due to
currentunhygienicconditions
-Along with parking, public
lavatories are provided for the public
convenience.
-The lavatories are eco-friendly.

Theparkingpool solves the problem of
parkingon a largerarea and hencekeeps
thestreets freefrom traffic jams.
Italso reducesdisturbance to the
residential area.
Theparkingpool not onlysolves thetraffic
problem but also provides lung spaces.
Thisstreet is converted into a pedestrian
pathway.
Thevehicles arerestricted by providing alternate
greenpockets on either side of the road.
Kattas areprovided incombination with the
greenpockets where the residents can sit and
interact.
By providing these spaces the house hold
activities get restricted on street.
-The women are used to
washing clothes on the street.
Duringthis, the y
communicatewith each other.
-Thisbecomes a character of
this street and is maintained in
theproposal by organizing
these activities.
-Also since this street looks
dry,the planter boxes bringlife
into this street.

acts as a pause point for the pedestrians.

passing.
