1. Evaluative Commentary
Part 5
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. What technology did you use to
research your project?
• We used computers (iMacs), digital cameras and software such as
garage band and final cut pro. We also used a web 2.0.
3. What technology did you use to plan
your project?
• We created a blog so that we can upload all our research and
planning, it also meant we could use videos and learning how to
embed them onto our blog.
4. What technology did you use to produce (i.e.
film) your project? (why is HD better then
normal digital? Why are advantages to using
digital video instead of celluloid?)
We used a HD 1080p digital camera to As with a 720p resolution it displays 720 horizontal lines
film our project. 1080p offers a better at the same time 60 times a second, this results in a
pixel and resolution of 1920 x 1080. HD progressive image displaying this is how the ‘p’ is added
is better than normal digital as the at the end. With a 1080p format the resolution is
image is much clearer. doubled more then 720p. 1080p vs. 720p difference
viewer and screen gets smaller.
Film is know to best mimic the way the human eye handles
bright spots in what a person sees. The highest single
frame resolution in todays HD cameras (1080p and 720p is
25,065,000. Whereas with celluloid it's highly flammable,
durable and not very light stable.
5. What technology did you use in post-
production (i.e. the editing)? Why is it
easier than normal editing?
• We used Final Cut Pro. in the post-production, it was easier as if you
need to make any corrections to any of the past editing you can
whereas, if we used celluloid we would have had to start again.
