Good afternoon and thanks for providing a platform for us to discuss the achivements.
My name is anjanesh babu, I work in IT for the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and today, I will attempt to provide a brief overview of how we are puling different study streams to allow indoor tracking of visitors in our spaces.
Before we go to what is ahead, we would be best to start off with what we are used to.
Tracking. This is something we already do on our websites – so I decided to start somewhere closeer to home using Ghostery.
Found two on the Ashmolean Homepage
Needed more and found two more on my next best favorite site – Chuck Norris.
Needed more –found few more on Buzzfeed
Wanting more ; went to facebook and …found nol
Visitors are able to find us
But can we find them finding us ?
GPS – good for outdoors but not for indoors (can provide height data)
NFC – too close for comfort. Maybe Payment systems
Image recognition – indeterminate light levels and cabinet glass
QR code – same as above .
Ibeacons – switch on something , work with something
