1. 2 Peter 3:10-18
But the day of the Lord will come as
unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens
will pass away with a terrible noise, and
the very elements themselves will
disappear in fire, and the earth and
everything on it will be found to deserve
judgment. Since everything around us is
going to be destroyed like this, what holy
and godly lives you should live, looking
forward to the day of God and hurrying it
along.

2. 2 Peter 3:10-18
On that day, He will set the heavens on
fire, and the elements will melt away in
the flames. But we are looking forward
to the new heavens and new earth He
has promised, a world filled with God’s
righteousness. And so, dear friends,
while you are waiting for these things
to happen, make every effort to be
found living peaceful lives that are pure
and blameless in His sight.

3. 2 Peter 3:10-18
And remember, the Lord’s patience gives
people time to be saved. This is what our
beloved brother Paul also wrote to you
with the wisdom God gave him, speaking
of these things in all of his letters. Some
of the comments are hard to understand,
and those who are ignorant and unstable
have twisted his letters to mean
something quite different, just as they do
with other parts of Scripture.

4. 2 Peter 3:10-18
And this will result in their destruction. I
am warning you ahead of time, dear
friends. Be on guard so that you will not
be carried away by the errors of these
wicked people and lose your own secure
footing. Rather, you must grow in the
grace and knowledge of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. All glory to Him,
both now and forever! Amen.

5. No Other Way
1. Behind salvation.
 Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you
have been saved through faith….
 And beyond salvation.
 Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish?
Having begun by the Spirit, are you
now being perfected by the flesh?

2. The God of grace.
 2 Peter 3:18 Be on guard .. you must grow in
the grace and knowledge of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ.
 The curse of grace.
 Romans 1:18-32 They knew God, but
wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give
Him thanks. And they began to think up
foolish ideas of what God was like. As a
result, … God abandoned them to their
shameful desires…

7. No Other Way
3. The way of God.
a. Triumph in helplessness.
 2 Corinthians 12:9 My grace is all you need.
My power works best in weakness.
b. Victory in surrender.
 1 Peter 5:5-6 God resists the proud but
gives grace to the humble. Therefore
humble yourselves under the mighty hand
of God, that He may exalt you in due
time.

4. The Ultimate Grace.
 1 Corinthians 2:12 And we have
received God’s Spirit (not the
world’s spirit), so we can know
the wonderful things God has
freely given.
 Romans 8:14 For all who are led
by the Spirit of God are children
of God.
