Job Description: Andries Mogomotsi Tumane
Receiving Supervisor
I am a leader of a team divided into 4 groups at a total of 26 plus staff members
and this groups arenamed as follows:
1. Stock Controllers
2. Sorters
3. Sanitation Controllers
4. Waste and Equipment Controllers
And all above are reporting to me.
Stock Controllers
 Check if they do stock rotation and storeproducts in its allocated cold
rooms.
 Ensuring Issuing procedurehas being followed when issuing stock toward
processing and sales in pack-house. ”Firstin firstout principle”
 Stock take done on a proper way all products thoseto be weigh and
counted are right.
 Doing monthly stock take every last day of the month.
Sorters
 Making surethey havework to do and sortall products according to
specification,
 They follow procedurebefore touching and using knifes to cut products;
a) Wash their hand
b) Wear hand gloves
c) Wear protective over roll
d) Using sharp knifes
 Ensuring they know differenceof products according to issuing spec e.g. we
buy papaya, Mango, Guava still under ripe but beforewe issue need to
ripped it then sortthe following; a) Under ripe
b) Ready to issue
c) Ready to eat or Over ripe
d) Rotten or wilt
 Under ripe products wetake back to ripening room, RTI we issuein
processing, RTEwe sell it to marketwhile rotten or wilted weigh, record
dump.
Sanitation Controllers
 Ensuring sanitation tanks are mixed before we can startshift,
 Ensuring all products that need to deep into tanks wheredeep for at least
10 minutes before it can be taken out.
 Ensuring all products is clean and sticks beforetaken into processing.
 Ensuring all products issued according to as requisition form required.
 Ensuring sanitation roomkept clean and closed all the time.
Receiving of raw material
 Receiving +- 150 ton of producta day and all mustbe weigh and stored in
cold roomon different temperatures,
 Check the arrived products are ordered and appear on a delivery schedule
and check with procurement if there is any difference between invoice and
schedule.
 Ensuring truck inspection procedureis donebefore we start open the truck
to offload; a) check truck temperature and set point
b) Check actual temp using a thermometer
c) Conditions of a truck and products (e.g. clean, no pest, not fall
into a truck and also stack properly)
 Working together with Quality Controllers to ensured we follow the right
procedure,
 Writing a Good Receive Note of products whether received or rejected on
arrivaland if it is rejected we write a consignmentnote and make surethe
driver sign before he goes and give him two copies one for security and one
for supplier.
 When a products is accepted wewrite a Batch Broad and paste on all
pallets, this Batch Broad it contain the following info; a) Supplier’s name
b) Receive date
c) Batch number
d) Productname
e) Defects
f) GRN number.
 All products areGRN on separate GRN’s for TRACEABILITYand PAYMENT
purposes.
 Data capture of GRN’s and ISSUING reports on PASTEL,
 Data capture of stock report on Excel,
 Ensuring all GRN are recorded and submitted to the relevant department.
Waste and Equipment Controllers
 Ensuring they squash all boxes in the Machine before we can load into a
recycling truck,
 They dump all waste after it was recorded and signed off,
 Ensuring they keep outside area clean,
 Ensuring they dump all wastein allocated wastebins,
 Ensuring they load empty Lugs, Bins and pallets as required.
Communication
 I ensuring there is stock communication flow between production and
procurementmanagement,
 Report shortages of products during and beforeprocessing,
 Report on arrivalrejected stock if was not loaded on arrival day.
Meetings and Staff reports
 I attend the morning meeting and give receiving reporteveryday (09:30)
and every Friday (14:00 or 15:00),
 I reportdeliveries and labour,
 E.g.; a) Deliveries: how many received yesterday, lastnight and whatwe
expert on that day.
b) Labour: Plan, absent, off, leaves, sick leaves and actual
 And also report whatis in communication block, if was not done beforethe
meetings.
Closure
I’ma motivated, ambitious and determine gentleman who has gain a lot of
experience in fast moving Goods industry. I’ma team leader and very passionate
about my work. I can work independently as well as in a team.
