SEATBELTS SAVE LIVES…
But What Happens When They are Defective?
Recalls are often based on weaknesses in the manufacturing, such as seri-
ous seatbelt defects or poor seatbelt design, that cause dangerous condi-
tions for drivers and passengers. A moderate to severe car crash could result
in seatbelts coming loose or otherwise providing inadequate protection, all of
which are very serious failures.

While statistics show that wearing your seatbelt is always the best option,
seatbelt defects may be among the most dangerous of the reasons for recall
of vehicles, and can lead to serious injury upon collision. A car crash in which
seatbelt defects are involved could lead to passenger ejection or other very
dangerous effects, all of which could be prevented by more careful design
and manufacturing. Always stay up to date on seatbelt recalls and talk to a

ment loop will not absorb enough energy, and injury to the
seat occupant can occur.

side seatbelt retractor assemblies.
