3. 1) 70% of all deaths are attributed to cancer, strokes and
heart disease. 50% of these are diet related and
preventable.
2) One out of every four people are either pre-diabetic or
are diabetic.
3) Children today from the ages of 2-5 are not expected
to outlive their parents.
4) The obesity rate has increased by 500% in the past
thirty years.
4. There are many causes of health problems including
environmental factors. The following slides list many of
the problems that are within a person’s ability to control.
5. 1) Improper diet
- This includes consumption of sugar, artificial sweeteners,
additives, preservatives, pesticides and hormones from non-
organic meats.
- Some of these chemicals tell the body to store fat; others do
damage by disrupting body function including disease resistance.
6. 2) Lack of proper exercise
- This causes weak bones, a weak heart and cardiovascular
system, weak lung function, weight control issues, accelerated aging
and decreased mood.
7. 3) Exposure to unnatural chemicals
- Antiperspirants containing aluminum
- Unnatural soaps
- Unnatural laundry detergents
- Unnatural fabric softeners
- Unnatural shampoos and conditioners
- Household cleaners
- Unnatural cosmetics
- Most plastic water containers
- Fluoride in faucet and shower water, toothpaste and mouthwash
-Fluoride is a poison that inactivates 62 enzymes, increases lead
absorption, increases aging, increases cancer rates, disrupts immune
system, lowers thyroid function, causes genetic damage, interrupts
DNA activity, increases arthritis, reduces IQ and impairs learning and
memory processes.
8. 4) Electromagnetic radiation
- Cell phones; keep away from body as much as possible
- Wireless internet; use as infrequently as possible
- Microwave ovens; avoid completely as the radiation severely
depletes nutrients, destroys vitamins and enzymes and cause changes
in the body including a decline in red blood cell function and
increased chance of anemia, rheumatism, fever and thyroid deficiency
9. 5) Stress
- Stress releases a chemical in the body called cortisol that breaks
the body down and lowers immune function
6) Lack of sleep
- Diminished fat loss
- Accelerated aging
- Decreased immunity
10. 7) Lack of sunlight
- More than one million people die each year due to lack of
vitamin D3 production stimulated by sunlight
- Decreased immunity
- Decreased mood
8) Drugs
- Age the body
- Lower immune function
- Side effects
11. Traditional model
- This is the most common model we see all around us. This model
treats symptoms with drugs and does not treat the underlying causes
of the symptoms. This is the pharmaceutical industry’s preferred
model because it generates enormous profits for them. This model
often leaves the patient dissatisfied as they must face side effects and
the realization that the root of their problem has not been corrected.
Alternative model
- This model of healthcare focuses on preventing health problems
and alleviating symptoms by eliminating the underlying causes of the
symptoms. This model is highly effective towards the prevention and
alleviation of diagnoses such as high cholesterol, high blood
pressure, obesity, type two diabetes, fatigue, depression and
inflammation.
12. The following segment reveals a main problem with the
traditional model of healthcare. That problem is the highly
profit–driven motives of the big pharmaceutical
companies. These motives put profit before health. The
pharmaceutical companies are the largest opponent to the
alternative health model because it jeopardizes their
enormous profits.
13. John Abramson, Harvard M.D., wrote Overdosed America. Dr.
Abramson discovered the following:
- Pharmaceutical ads are deceiving both doctors and the general
public.
- Before 1980, most medical studies were publicly funded and most
academic researchers scorned industry support.
- Today, three-fourths of clinical studies in the top three medical
journals are industry funded. Medical knowledge thus grows in
the direction of drug profits and not necessarily patient benefit.
- Industry funded studies are three times as likely to support using
a drug as are other studies of the same drug.
14. - 106,000 deaths per year in the United States are attributed to
known adverse reactions to prescription drugs.
- Drug companies blame high research costs on rapidly rising drug
costs but they spend much more on marketing.
- Most drugs do not work for most patients.
- A senior executive with Britain’s largest drug company admitted
that most prescription drugs do not work on most people who
take them and that fewer than half of the patients prescribed some
of the most expensive drugs actually derived any benefit from
them.
15. - Drug companies fund 70% of continued medical
education and drug research. 90% of panelists have
conflicts of interest such as in the cholesterol
guidelines.
- Seventeen billion dollars were spent on cholesterol
lowering drugs in 2010 in the United States.
- Pharmaceutical companies have lowered the
cholesterol number guidelines over time to fit more
patients into a range that dramatically increases profits
for them.
16. - Drug companies influence through public relations
firms and non-profit groups.
- Drug companies dominate medical reporting to
doctors.
- As a result, there is far more focus on drugs than on
alternatives such as lifestyle and nutrition.
17. Neglect of non-drug alternatives has lead to increase in:
- Osteoporosis
- Coronary heart disease
- Strokes
- Type 2 diabetes
- Depression and social anxiety disorder
- Cancer
- Obesity

19. - The Fitness industry is highly profit-driven and thus is very
deceptive in many instances.
- The federal trade commission found that over half of all weight
loss advertisements contained false or unsupported claims.
- The body can only burn two pounds of fat naturally per week so
be wary of advertisements that claim dramatic weight loss in a
short amount of time.
- Consumerreports.org provides product analysis results.
20. - Research now reveals that a typical person who implements a
proper alternative health regimen into their life will reduce their
chance of disease by as much as 70-80 percent.
- A proper alternative health program in many instances will
stabilize and prevent diagnoses such as high cholesterol, high
blood pressure, obesity, type 2 diabetes, fatigue, inflammation and
depression.
- A proper alternative health program will also help prevent
unnecessary spending by reducing an individual’s exposure to the
tainted pharmaceutical and fitness industries.
21. -The free preventive health program link at the at the end of this
presentation is provided by Dr. Joseph Mercola, a preventive
medicine specialist.
- Dr. Mercola is located in Chicago and has a clinic called the Natural
Health Center. He owns the top-rated natural health website in the
world which is also the fourth largest medical website in the world.
This site contains leading research from around the world.
- Dr. Mercola has been featured on the Dr. Oz show several times.
- Dr. Mercola’s program naturally stabilizes the body through proper
diet, exercise and reduction of exposure to chemicals.
22. The effectiveness of the research behind Dr. Mercola’s
program can be demonstrated by his cholesterol lowering
drug prescription rate. Of the 20,000 – 30,000 patients he
has seen in his career, he has only prescribed cholesterol
lowering drugs to five patients. Those five patients had a
genetic issue. Everyone else he has stabilized naturally
through proper regimen.
23. -The free advanced weight loss link at the end of this presentation is
provided by Dr. Eric Berg.
-Dr. Berg is located in Alexandria, Virginia and has a clinic called the
Health and Wellness Center. Dr. Berg is author of The Seven
Principles of Fat Burning . This book is based upon a decade of
research and practical application including clinical trials on
thousands of people with severe weight loss issues. His principles
have never failed to work on anyone who properly implemented
them.
-Dr. Berg has trained more than a thousand doctors and healthcare
practitioners worldwide.
-Dr.Berg’s program is highly individualized through online testing.
