The Merc offers healthy cooking class with seasonal produce
LAWRENCE, Kansas – The Merc Co-op is offering a healthy cooking class that
demonstrates recipes using the freshest foods of the season. The class will be taught by wellness
and food instructor Rachel Ciordas and will focus on new recipes and advice for healthy
cooking.
The class, “Slimming and Delicious Flavors of Fall,” will take place in The Merc
classroom on Tuesday Oct. 7 from 7-9 p.m. The cost is $18 and attendees can sign up and pay
online at themerc.coop.
Participants will learn to cook a four-course fall meal with seasonal ingredients.

are
a
great
way
to
show
that
it
is
possible
to
have
fun
while
cooking
healthy. “The
food
you’re
working
with
is
so
fresh,
delicious,
and
in
season,
so
the
food
is
at
its
absolute
best,“
Ciordas
said.
The
Merc
Co-‐op,
founded
in
1974,
is

and
natural
food
