I used this picture as the main image on my front
cover as I felt that it captured what I wanted to portray.
It shows my model James as mysterious and not smiling
which, after research on R&B magazines, is a key theme.
The pose he is doing shows that he doesn't generally care at
all and this is what the music portrays also so I believe this
was a great fit.
I didn't use these pictures as I felt that there would be no connection
with the artist on the front cover and the audience. The connection with
the audience is what is going to get them to buy the magazine, and I feel
that if James and Blaine are looking away from the camera it doesn't show the attatchement
he has with his music. That is why I don't think this is suitabl for my magazine.
I used this picture for my double page spread as there was a large space
to the right hand side which would allow me to write my article there without cropping
the photo. Also, James' posture goes with the genre. Although I wouldn't want a pose
like this on my front cover, for my double page spread it works nicely as pull quotes can
be placed. He looks like he is looking up to the article and it is like he is also reading the article.
I used this picture of Blaine for my contents page as I was adapting
elements of a kanye contents page. This picture is good to use as the
text can wrap around his body and follow him down. There is space on
the left hand side for the title of contents. When looking at existing contents
pages they usually have 1 or 2 people on the front cover and this is why I
decided to use this picture.

I didn't use these pictures as I didn't feel like it would stand out on the shelf.
As he was in white I didn't feel like it portrayed the R&B genre as white
is usually associated with pure. That is why this picture wasn't used for my magazine.
These pictures also, the same as the ones above, I do not feel as though they corrospond with the genre and they are also slightly out of focus.
These pictures I didn't use as when I was playing around with the picture it looked like he was floating.
I decided that I shouldn't use them as he was looking away from the camera also which doesn't show the
connection between the audience and I don't think that it is suitable.
I didn't use these pictures due to the outfit as he was
wearing a suit. Suits do not usually fit in to R&B genre
and I don't think that this would appeal to the audience.
