6. Proportional Bars
• A key skill in Geography involves drawing graphs located on a map, these
are called ‘Proportional bar graphs’.
• Within your class you need to add up the total number of people who
have visited each country in Europe. Make a note of this on your
worksheet.
• Next you will need to decide on a scale that is going to work with your
map, e.g: 1cm = 2 people
• You need to draw a vertical and horizontal axis on your map for each
country, the width of each bar must be the same.
• Draw a bar to show the total number of visitors to each country and
colour.
• Don’t forget to label the axes and give your map a title.
