Artificial sweeteners like aspartame, saccharin, sucralose and others are harmful chemicals that should not be consumed. They are synthesized in labs for sweetness but have no nutritional value. Numerous health issues are linked to artificial sweetener consumption including neurological problems, gastrointestinal issues, and various diseases. Physicians are advised to avoid artificial sweeteners and consumer products containing them to protect health. Natural sweeteners like stevia and xylitol are safer alternatives.

ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS CAN BE
HARMFUL TO YOUR HEALTH:
WHY THEY ARE NOT TO BE
TAKEN LIGHTLY OR TAKEN AT ALL
2. 2
What is an ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER?
A chemical that is MANUFACTURED by HUMAN
chemists for the sake of providing sweetness or
enhanced flavor to foods, drinks, medications and
supplements that offer NO NUTRITIVE benefit to the
consumer of any age.
3. 3
Products that are classified as ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS:
1) Saccharin (Sweet’n Low found in PINK PACKETS)
2) Cyclamate
3) Aspartame (EQUAL, NUTRASWEET found in BLUE PACKETS)
4) Alitame
5) Sucralose (SPLENDA found in YELLOW PACKETS)
6) Acesulfame K
7) Neotame
4. 4
THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PRODUCTS ON THE
MARKET WITH THESE SUBSTANCES IN THEM.
Many products contain a MIXTURE of 2 or more
of these artificial sweeteners.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THESE ITEMS?
5. 5
1) They are all derived from chemicals that are NOT intended
for human consumption.
2) The most notable ones like Saccharin, Cyclamate,
Aspartame and Sucralose were ALL discovered by
ACCIDENT- each in a chemical lab- and not because
anyone was searching for a substitute sweetener!!
3) GMOs (genetically modified organisms) are used in the
manufacture of these products, namely ASPARTAME.
4) The manufacturers have not revealed the TRUTHS about
these substances and it has take independent scientific
intervention to uncover the dangers inherent in the
products.
6. 6
5) It has been reported that many of the lab studies that
resulted in lab animal diseases and deaths were DISCARDED
or DESTROYED.
6) There is and has been a serious UNDER REPORTING of the
harmful effects that have occurred with these artificial
substances.
7) Saccharin is derived from toluene- a paint thinner and has
been used for more than a CENTURY now with its effects not
reported or not recognized due to the multiplicity of
problems that most humans have experienced. People will
not be attentive to conditions such as bladder weakness,
vision disturbances, tremors, digestive problems and a host of
others that can be linked with the artificial chemical.
7. 7
8) Sucralose or SPLENDA contains CHLORINE- 3 molecules of it on
aspartame chemical structure- that is a TOXIC substance that has
been tested to show absorption in dogs digestive tracts. This can
cause all sorts of digestive issues that will in turn affect other
organs as well.
9) The sucralose has not been on the market as long as aspartame
so that we have far less reporting of adverse effects. Several
repots have already been noted by concerned doctors (Mercola,
pp 83-92) involving allergic reactions and severe neuralgias.
10) Aspartame has been linked to a huge number of neurological
conditions and the reports have been compiled by doctors who
have a vested interest in alerting the consumer about the
inherent harm with these chemicals (see references at end).
8. 8
Eyes…decreased vision, blurring, pain, decreased tears, blindness
Ears…ear ringing or buzzing, hearing impairment, severe noise
intolerance
Neurologic…headaches, dizziness, confusion, memory loss, severe
drowsiness, pins and needles in the limbs, severe tremors, slurring
of speech, seizures of any kind, severe hyperactivity, restless legs,
facial pain
Psychological…extreme irritability, depression, severe anxiety,
marked personality changes, severe insomnia, phobias
Here are some important symptoms that one should be alerted to
when it comes to ingestion of aspartame-containing products:
9. 9
Heart/lungs…palpitations, shortness of breath, high blood pressure
suddenly starting
Gastrointestinal…nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, pain on swallowing
Skin and Allergies…severe itching without a rash, severe lip and mouth
reactions, hives, other eruptions, aggravation of respiratory allergies
Endocrine and metabolic…loss of diabetes control, precipitation of
diabetes, aggravation of diabetic complications; menstrual changes-
severe reduction or cessation of periods much earlier than menopause;
paradoxic weight gain, marked weight loss, marked thinning or loss of
hair, low blood sugar attacks
Other…frequency of urination, excessive urination, excessive thirst; sever
joint pains, fluid retention and leg swelling; increased susceptibility to
infections.
10. 10
APARTAME TOXICITY is frequently misdiagnosed
as a specific disease. This has YET to be reported
in the scientific literature, YET IT HAS BEEN
REPORTED countless times to independent
organizations and scientists
(Mission Possible 1994, Stoddard 1995).
11. 11
According to researchers and physicians studying the adverse
effects of aspartame, the list below may be caused or worsened
by the long-term ingestion of aspartame:
Brain tumors, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, mental retardation,
diabetes, chemical sensitivities, chronic fatigue syndrome,
Multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, fibromyalgia, lymphoma,
arthritis, attention deficit disorder, birth defects, among others.
12. 12
“
Here are some case examples
that expose the aspartame connection:
“I have suffered from migraines for years. As soon as I gave up NUTRASWEET
my headaches disappeared. All those CAT scans, MRIs…for nothing.”
“Since I last wrote my brother has been off NUTRASWEET since then. My
brother’s lupus-type symptoms completely went away. My brother has been
a physician for over 10 years…his doctor (a specialist) who has been treating
him has seen the significant difference and wants to write a research paper
on this…my brother’s physician has now started prescribing getting off
Nutrasweet for his other patients…”
A patient described unexplained flank pain of several months duration the
RESOLVED when he stopped drinking iced tea containing aspartame (4/1991,
Roberts, H.J., M.D.)
13. 13
A Miami physician reported that he had been playing tennis for
30 years without experiencing cramping of the muscles. When
this problem occurred one year previously, the only change was
the addition of ASPARTAME to coffee and diet drinks. The
cramping CEASED when he avoided aspartame (10/1990.
Roberts, H.J., M.D.)
A 42 year old man developed severe pain and loss of feeling
over the left face. He had been consuming 2 cans of diet cola
and 6 packets of aspartame artificial sweetener daily. Numerous
studies for these and 2 hospitalizations proved “NORMAL”. All
the symptoms subsided shortly after stopping the aspartame
products.
14. 14
One heavy user of aspartame soda stated, “ I’ve been having
slurred speech with depression, and it scared me to death!”. Both
symptoms disappeared shortly after stopping aspartame.
A 78 year old man was blacking out. He was examined by a
physician and no cause was found. When he was queried about
dietary changes, he claimed that he had been using diet sodas for
several weeks. After he stopped using the sodas, he was seen after
2 weeks by the physician and he reported that there were no
recurrences. He had then set up to go to Alaska where he enjoyed
the trip and reported no blackouts at all 5 weeks after all this.
16. 16
Many pilots have experienced vertigo, seizures and other
neurologic problems associated with the ingestion of large
amounts of aspartame. Grand mal seizures have been
reported in the cockpit. By 1995 there were at least 1,000
cases of pilot reactions reported to the Aspartame
Consumer Safety Network Pilot Hotline. This susceptibility
may be related to METHANOL ingestion, according to a Dr.
Phil Moskal, Professor of Biochemistry, Micorbiology and
Pathology, Chairman of the Department of Pathology,
Director of Public Health Laboratories (Moskal 1990).
17. 17
NUMEROUS aspartame warnings have been published in pilot
journals including: The Aviation Consumer (1988), Aviation Medical
Bulletin (1988), General Aviation News (1989), Canadian General
Aviation News (1990), National Business Aircraft Association Digest
(NBAA Digest 1993), Pacific Flyer (1995). It is pointed out that the
CUMULATIVE deleterious effects of methanol ingestion can lead to
vertigo, mental confusion, seizures, vision alterations, birth defects
and more.
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL KNOWING THAT YOU ARE ON AN
AIRCRAFT WITH THIS INFORMATION?
18. 18
Physicians are aware of ARMS- the Adverse Reaction Monitoring System.
Physicians are NOT encouraged to report aspartame toxicity reactions to
the FDA. As a result, the percentage of reporting is low and this does not
help in the quest to uncover the problem.
Lay public is generally UNAWARE of ARMS and is less likely to report
adverse reactions to FDA. As a result, the percentage of reporting is low and
this does not help in the quest to uncover the problem.
It was not until 1984 that an Aspartame “monitoring program” came into
existence, almost 2 years after aspartame was approved and started to be
heavily sold on the market.
On REPORTING…
19. 19
All foods with artificial sweeteners
All drinks with artificial sweeteners
All medications with artificial sweeteners
All supplements with artificial sweeteners
WHAT TO DO ABOUT ALL THIS?
If you or your family is consuming any of the
following, please be advised that it is in your
best interest to stop or significantly reduce:
20. 20
Soda, candy, cake, gums, bakery items, dairy products, powders and
formulas for weight control, supplements of all kinds and MEDICATIONS
are all in position to have these sweeteners added.
Be reminded that the chemicals are Unnatural and will cause a problem
one way or another.
If you are picking up food or snack items that state “DIET” or “Low
SUGAR” on the labels, please do not purchase them. The accumulative
deleterious effects for your family and yourself cannot be overstated.
If you think a medication has one of these artificial sweeteners in it or
would like to know, contact your pharmacist and/or the manufacturer.
21. 21
If you would like a non-sugar sweetener for
your food, drink or vitamin/other
supplement, choose STEVIA or even
XYLITOL. These are derived from plants and
have been ingested without problems for
hundreds of years in their natural forms
(stevia is from a leaf indigenous to South
America and the xylitol is from a birch tree).
Be careful with the products, however, that
are containing the ARTIFICIAL sweeteners
PLUS the natural-type.
*****YOU WILL NEED TO PROTECT
YOUR HEALTH BECAUSE YOUR
HEALTH IS NOT THE PRIORITY OF
THE INSTITUTIONS AND
MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES.
22. 22
ANYONE with DIABETES is urged to AVOID all artificial sweeteners (The
ADA and the FDA and the manufacturers of the artificial stuff like
aspartame and sucralose are working together). Use the suggestions
above or DON’T USE ANYTHING AT ALL- EVEN BETTER!!!!
PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO KEEP YOUR HEALTH AND THOSE AROUND
YOU.
ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS ARE NOT WELCOME IN THE SACRED HUMAN
BODY AND WE SHOULD ALL REMEMBER THAT.
LET US BE MORE COGNIZANT OF OUR PRECIOUS LIVES AND FEED
THEM WITH NATURE’S GIFTS RATHER THAN THOSE ITEMS THAT WILL
NOT BENEFIT ANYONE, GREEDY OR TOTAL PROFIT-DRIVEN INCLUDED
