working for the BBC?

Japan, what was that like?

compare to online journalism?

• Does everyday start with a coffee then?!
Out of all interviewees I feel Eric
Simpson has a career which I am most
Interested to go down.
2. Questions noted down for Richard Graham
• What was it you studied here at Nottingham Trent and did you enjoy it?
• Shortly after graduating from Trent you were introduced to Shane Meadows and soon
started working with him. How was that?
• You’ve recently just finishing Misfits, how was that? And what
Is it you like working with E4 programmes!
• What do you enjoy and dislike most about editing? Pros Cons
• Is editing something you will stick to or do you think you’ll
Have a change of career?
I really liked the enthusiasm for his job, which he clearly enjoys, however a career in
moving editing isn’t one which appeals to me. I enjoy editing on a small scale, however it is
a very time consuming process, as Graham mentions some jobs take weeks and he is alone
when doing so. Although I enjoy small scale editing I don’t have the passion Graham has to
pursue it.
3. Directing would not be my chosen career, I feel to be a director you need to have a
true passion and an assertive personality in order to give Instructions to the actors
and other film crew. I do not have enough confidence in myself and film knowledge
to be able to do this and is something I do not have the natural enthusiasm for, to
build on this.
Questions noted down for Simon Ellis
• You studied fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, how did doing art at Uni
get to where you are today, a film director?
• As well as short films you have also worked on music videos and
commercials, how dose this compare to film?
4. In conclusion I found what the speakers had to say interesting and influential, however the
most beneficial part of the process for myself was that I now no from this time filming I do
not want a career where I will be behind the camera. I find being behind a camera dull and
more importantly the camera hard to use. The cameras are large and have many settings
which makes it very difficult for me to handle and control to make the most of the
settings, due to a disability which means I only have the use of 1 hand. This is the main factor
in my dislike for camera work and has perhaps tampered my experiences. However with this
being the equipment used I do not believe I could become a successful professional within
this area.
To edited my work I used the editing software Adobe Premiere Elements. Overall I am
satisfied with the work I have achieved bar a few minor things. Throughout the editing
process I was faced with many set backs.
