First Platoon has been busy working on perfecting our
ability to “be about it,” our unofficial motto. We have
focused on training soldiers to become effective
leaders, whether for themselves or for their team(s).
Training in this extreme environment has enabled us to
become more knowledgeable and successful Arctic
warriors.
In recent months we’ve had one of our soldiers get
married. SPC West married Aidan, a local student at
UAF. Both have received incredible support from
soldiers and civilians alike in response to their burnt
apartment. We’re thankful for such generosity. Soon
enough our very own, SGT Music, will be married to
Leticia in January in California. He, along with SGT
Nichols, received their E-5 promotion in November; a
