• For gram negative aerobic bacteria only
• Urinary tract infections
• Meningitis
• Endocarditis
• Peritonitis
• Septicemia
• Pneumonia
• Gentamicin : Ophthalmic Infections
• Neomycin for Hepatic encephalopathy
• Streptomycin for Tuberculosis (second line)
5. Side Effects
• Nephrotoxicity
• Ototoxicity: Hearing impairment and vestibular toxicity
• Neuromuscular blockade
• Allergic reactions.
• Anemia (low hemoglobin in blood)
• Thrombocytopenia (low platelet count)
