Guide the Reader by stating your position or
the topic of the paper
Give enough details so the Reader knows
what you are writing about

Each paragraph must start with a topic
sentence
Each paragraph must provide one general
detail, fact or reason that supports the topic
sentence
Each paragraph must end by relating it back
to the thesis…if not the information is not
needed!
4. The Conclusion
The easiest transition is to simply state “In
conclusion…”

Give a brief summary of the main points you
made
