Researchers believe that IQ scores may have less to do with intelligence and more to do with being socialized in a manner typical of the dominant culture. They recruit a sample of children who are being raised in the US, but meet the researchers' criteria for classification as being socialized in a manner that is inconsistent with the dominant culture. Among possible criteria might be that these children do not watch television!!!! (Really what kind of person would do something like that to their own child!) To test their hypothesis, researchers wish to compare this samples average IQ test score to the national average. Which is best to use when testing for this difference?.
