Kirobo is a small robot with voice recognition, natural language processing, and camera capabilities that was sent to the International Space Station in August 2013. Weighing 1 kg and measuring 34 cm tall, 18 cm wide and 15 cm deep, Kirobo spoke its first words in space on August 21, 2013 and later conducted an experiment conversing with astronaut Koichi Wakata in December 2013, with plans to return from the ISS in December 2014.
