Job Title: Catholic Religious Education Coordinator.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The Applicant shall assist the Catholic Chapel Parish with denominationally specific, professional,
ecclesiastical support for Catholic Liturgical cycle requirements, Canon Law requirements,
Sacramental requirements, Diocesan regulations and requirements, and denominationally specific
Ecclesiastical norms and requirements. The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator shall
provide coordination support for the Essential Elements of the Religious Services (EERS) of
Catholic worship, sacraments, rites, and ordinances.
Specific Duties:
The Applicant shall provide services to the Fort Polk Catholic Parish Administrative Program.
The Applicant shall not conduct formal counseling, administer sacraments, or ordinances, lead a
worship service, or perform chaplain responsibilities.
Coordinating the Liturgical Cycle Requirements
The Applicant shall:
• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for Catholic Masses.
• Coordinate denominationally specific support for special events in the Catholic liturgical
year such as Advent, Christmas, Lenten/Easter programs and holy days of obligation, etc.
• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for special parish and
religious Advent/Christmas, Lent/Holy Week/Easter, Patronal Feast Day, Baccalaureate
Mass, etc.
• Coordinate the denominationally specific administrative support required for each event or
activity.
• Plan, organize and implement a Children’s church program for children ages 3 to 12. The
Children’s Church program will be conducted on Sunday’s during regular Catholic worship
services, once a week.
• Coordinate and recommend readings, prayers and seasonal examination of conscience in
accordance with liturgical norms for communal reconciliation services.
• Provide weekly “Prayers of the Faithful” for each Sunday and holiday Eucharistic
celebration.
Coordinating Canon Law Requirements
The Applicant shall:
• Coordinate and conduct denominational specific pre-nuptial investigation reports in
accordance with Canon 1066.
• Coordinate and notify the priest/chaplain as soon as possible of the results of the pre-nuptial
investigation by means of an authentic document (Canon 1070).
• Coordinate and apply pre-nuptial dispensations for mixed religion (Canon 1124); disparity
of cult (Canon 1125); and from Canonical form (Canon 1127).
• Coordinate and establish free status of the parties to marry according to the norms of law
(Canon 1114).
• Coordinate and assist the petitioner’s request for special case dispensations (i.e. Pauline
Privilege [Canon1148]; Petrine Privilege or Favor of the Faith [Canon 1149]; Simple
Convalidation [Canon 1159]; Radical Sanction [Canon 1161, 1162].
• Coordinate and notify the pastor(s) of the place(s) of the spouse’s place of baptism about
the marriage as soon as possible after the marriage (Canon 1122).
• Coordinate and notify the pastor of the place of baptism that confirmation was conferred
(Canon 895).
• Coordinate and provide baptismal preparation for expectant parents in accordance with
church canons and rubrical requirements.
• Coordinate and maintain a continuity binder which shall contain copies of program plans,
quarterly reports, calendars and copies of reports of attendance and After Action Report
(AAR)
Coordinate Sacramental Requirements
The Applicant shall:
• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for Catholic Rites,
Sacraments, and Ordinances;
• Conduct Parish-wide sacramental census;
• Coordinate parents’ meetings for sacramental preparation;
• Obtain and Maintain parish records for Catholic rites, sacraments, and ordinances;
• Coordinate the specific administrative support required for each event or activity;
• Coordinate and provide communion calls and visits to the sick;
• Operate a parish data system for tracking sacramental information.
• Coordinate and provide required RCIA, Pre-Cana, parent and godparent baptism
preparation certificate and records to PCS members as required;
• Recruit and train Catholic religious education teachers and helpers for all Catholic classes
and events;
• Recruit and register Catholic students;
• Plan and implement three community retreats.
Coordinate Diocesan Regulations and Requirements:
The Applicant shall:
• Coordinating the specific administrative support required for each event or activity;
• Coordinate and compile Archdiocese of Military Service (AMS) required pre-nuptial
certificates and affidavits;
• Coordinate and record the marriage in the AMS marriage register by fully completing the
AMS record form and submitting it along with the pre-nuptial investigation of both parties
to the AMS Sacramental Department;
• Coordinate and prepare fully filled out AMS Baptism, Profession of Faith, First Holy
Communion and Confirmation record forms for the AMS Sacrament Department within a
week of the celebration of the sacrament;
• Coordinate and prepare fully filled out the Chaplain Quarterly Sacramental Report, for the
AMS Sacramental Department on the last day of each quarter;
• Coordinate and submit names of qualified persons who have been chosen, thoroughly
trained and endorsed by the priest chaplain to AMS for appointment by the Archbishop as
Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist (EME);
• Coordinate and provide sacramental marriage preparation classes that meet the specific
requirements of the diocese in which the marriage will take place.
Coordinate Ecclesiastical Parochial Norms and Requirements
The Applicant shall:
• Coordinate denominationally specific support for the Catholic Parish Program with
Catholic Chaplain and Catholic Parish Advisory Council
• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for parish activities
• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for the Catholic Parish
Program Budget
• Coordinate the specific administrative support required for each event or activity
• Maintain a volunteer utilization file to include volunteers name, recruitment date,
utilization, training and hours volunteered
• Maintain records of all Catholic Parish programs to include members of volunteer hours
utilized and number of persons attending each event
• Advertise and promote Catholic Parish program activities by use of chapel bulletins, the
post bulletin, bulletin boards, flyers, the community newspaper, and any other appropriate
media
• Provide a list of Catholic Parish program supplies and materials projected for use during
the next quarter of the year to be submitted NLT the last working day of first month of each
quarter
• Provide a quarterly report of names of volunteers in Catholic Parish programs and hours
worked; submitted by the last Friday of each quarter
• Send appropriate Mass cards to bereaved congregation members
• Coordinate and provide lay liturgical training in accordance with church regulations
• Use media to keep the parish informed about church liturgical celebrations; preparation
and requirements as mandated by Archdiocese of Military Service (AMS) and local need
• Provide Parish Council with an annual State of Parish Report and forward copy to AMS
• Plan and implement thirty-nine Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes.
Special Events:
The Applicant shall coordinate, plan, and organize the following events:
• Banquet Event: An annual banquet to recognize all chapel volunteers
• Vacation Bible School: An annual one-week session of Vacation Bible School
• Family Events: Twelve Family events
• “Super Signup”: Annual event for all members of the Catholic Community
• Newcomers Orientation: One orientation for newcomers.
• Volunteer Event: Autumn Religious program Fall Fest
• Catholic Women of the Church: Thirty-nine classes.
Services Support:
The Applicant shall:
• Coordinate with Catholic Chaplain and the Catholic Parish Advisory Council.
• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for Catholic Masses
• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for the Sacraments of First

• Coordinate preparation of denominationally specific administrative support for priest for
Catholic Rites, Sacraments, and Ordinances

• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for parish activities.

• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for special parish and
religious Advent/Christmas, Lent/Holy Week/Easter, Patronal Feast Day, Baccalaureate
Mass, etc.
• Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for the Catholic Parish
Program Budget.
• Coordinate services to provide denominationally specific, professional, administrative
support including obtaining, preparing, recording, sending, and maintaining official
records as required by the Catholic Church.
• Coordinate for Parish programs events including promotional endeavors and advertising
campaigns.
• Maintain adequate records of functions, attendance and materials needed.
• Project the timely supply of support materials and classroom supplies for sacramental
preparation classes and meetings.
Hours of Operation:
The Applicant is responsible for providing services between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday, except federal holidays or when the Facility is closed due to local or
national emergencies, administrative closings.
The Applicant shall work four hours per day, from 09.00-13.00, Monday-Friday. The Applicant
may be required to deliver services on American holidays and on weekends. On Sundays and
holidays, the Applicant shall work six hours a day from 09.00-15.00.
The community and or sponsoring chaplain can change the day, time or the format of the program
to meet the needs of the congregation. Planning, training, and coordination meetings may be held
during day time or evening hours, during the weekend.
NOTE: Historically, the number of work hours per week did not exceed 26 hours.
Qualifications:
• Practicing Catholic, committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church and to the ministry
of bringing Jesus’ sacred teachings to our children.
• Have a Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Theology or Religious Studies .
• Be able to resolve interpersonal conflicts and promote constructive working relations.
• Maintain a respectful, positive, and spiritually sensitive environment. Must be able to work
with Chapel staff members, all military personnel, Chapel volunteer lay leaders, and
Chapel volunteers with diverse spiritual backgrounds.
• Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and technology skills with a solid working
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook and show ability to work
with other software programs if necessary.
• Motivated, self-starter, able to multitask and manage multiple priorities
• Able to work independently and in a multicultural environment
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to use technology and social media to enhance and support teaching, learning and
communication efficiencies.

Job Title: Catholic Religious Education Coordinator. Scope of Responsibilities: The Applicant shall assist the Catholic Chapel Parish with denominationally specific, professional, ecclesiastical support for Catholic Liturgical cycle requirements, Canon Law requirements, Sacramental requirements, Diocesan regulations and requirements, and denominationally specific Ecclesiastical norms and requirements. The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator shall provide coordination support for the Essential Elements of the Religious Services (EERS) of Catholic worship, sacraments, rites, and ordinances. Specific Duties: The Applicant shall provide services to the Fort Polk Catholic Parish Administrative Program. The Applicant shall not conduct formal counseling, administer sacraments, or ordinances, lead a worship service, or perform chaplain responsibilities. Coordinating the Liturgical Cycle Requirements The Applicant shall: • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for Catholic Masses. • Coordinate denominationally specific support for special events in the Catholic liturgical year such as Advent, Christmas, Lenten/Easter programs and holy days of obligation, etc. • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for special parish and religious Advent/Christmas, Lent/Holy Week/Easter, Patronal Feast Day, Baccalaureate Mass, etc. • Coordinate the denominationally specific administrative support required for each event or activity. • Plan, organize and implement a Children’s church program for children ages 3 to 12. The Children’s Church program will be conducted on Sunday’s during regular Catholic worship services, once a week. • Coordinate and recommend readings, prayers and seasonal examination of conscience in accordance with liturgical norms for communal reconciliation services. • Provide weekly “Prayers of the Faithful” for each Sunday and holiday Eucharistic celebration.

Coordinating Canon Law Requirements The Applicant shall: • Coordinate and conduct denominational specific pre-nuptial investigation reports in accordance with Canon 1066. • Coordinate and notify the priest/chaplain as soon as possible of the results of the pre-nuptial investigation by means of an authentic document (Canon 1070). • Coordinate and apply pre-nuptial dispensations for mixed religion (Canon 1124); disparity of cult (Canon 1125); and from Canonical form (Canon 1127). • Coordinate and establish free status of the parties to marry according to the norms of law (Canon 1114). • Coordinate and assist the petitioner’s request for special case dispensations (i.e. Pauline Privilege [Canon1148]; Petrine Privilege or Favor of the Faith [Canon 1149]; Simple Convalidation [Canon 1159]; Radical Sanction [Canon 1161, 1162]. • Coordinate and notify the pastor(s) of the place(s) of the spouse’s place of baptism about the marriage as soon as possible after the marriage (Canon 1122). • Coordinate and notify the pastor of the place of baptism that confirmation was conferred (Canon 895). • Coordinate and provide baptismal preparation for expectant parents in accordance with church canons and rubrical requirements. • Coordinate and maintain a continuity binder which shall contain copies of program plans, quarterly reports, calendars and copies of reports of attendance and After Action Report (AAR) Coordinate Sacramental Requirements The Applicant shall: • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for Catholic Rites, Sacraments, and Ordinances; • Conduct Parish-wide sacramental census; • Coordinate parents’ meetings for sacramental preparation; • Obtain and Maintain parish records for Catholic rites, sacraments, and ordinances; • Coordinate the specific administrative support required for each event or activity; • Coordinate and provide communion calls and visits to the sick; • Operate a parish data system for tracking sacramental information. • Coordinate and provide required RCIA, Pre-Cana, parent and godparent baptism preparation certificate and records to PCS members as required; • Recruit and train Catholic religious education teachers and helpers for all Catholic classes and events; • Recruit and register Catholic students; • Plan and implement three community retreats. Coordinate Diocesan Regulations and Requirements: The Applicant shall: • Coordinating the specific administrative support required for each event or activity;
  • 3. • Coordinate and compile Archdiocese of Military Service (AMS) required pre-nuptial certificates and affidavits; • Coordinate and record the marriage in the AMS marriage register by fully completing the AMS record form and submitting it along with the pre-nuptial investigation of both parties to the AMS Sacramental Department; • Coordinate and prepare fully filled out AMS Baptism, Profession of Faith, First Holy Communion and Confirmation record forms for the AMS Sacrament Department within a week of the celebration of the sacrament; • Coordinate and prepare fully filled out the Chaplain Quarterly Sacramental Report, for the AMS Sacramental Department on the last day of each quarter; • Coordinate and submit names of qualified persons who have been chosen, thoroughly trained and endorsed by the priest chaplain to AMS for appointment by the Archbishop as Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist (EME); • Coordinate and provide sacramental marriage preparation classes that meet the specific requirements of the diocese in which the marriage will take place. Coordinate Ecclesiastical Parochial Norms and Requirements The Applicant shall: • Coordinate denominationally specific support for the Catholic Parish Program with Catholic Chaplain and Catholic Parish Advisory Council • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for parish activities • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for the Catholic Parish Program Budget • Coordinate the specific administrative support required for each event or activity • Maintain a volunteer utilization file to include volunteers name, recruitment date, utilization, training and hours volunteered • Maintain records of all Catholic Parish programs to include members of volunteer hours utilized and number of persons attending each event • Advertise and promote Catholic Parish program activities by use of chapel bulletins, the post bulletin, bulletin boards, flyers, the community newspaper, and any other appropriate media • Provide a list of Catholic Parish program supplies and materials projected for use during the next quarter of the year to be submitted NLT the last working day of first month of each quarter • Provide a quarterly report of names of volunteers in Catholic Parish programs and hours worked; submitted by the last Friday of each quarter • Send appropriate Mass cards to bereaved congregation members • Coordinate and provide lay liturgical training in accordance with church regulations • Use media to keep the parish informed about church liturgical celebrations; preparation and requirements as mandated by Archdiocese of Military Service (AMS) and local need • Provide Parish Council with an annual State of Parish Report and forward copy to AMS • Plan and implement thirty-nine Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes.

Special Events: The Applicant shall coordinate, plan, and organize the following events: • Banquet Event: An annual banquet to recognize all chapel volunteers • Vacation Bible School: An annual one-week session of Vacation Bible School • Family Events: Twelve Family events • “Super Signup”: Annual event for all members of the Catholic Community • Newcomers Orientation: One orientation for newcomers. • Volunteer Event: Autumn Religious program Fall Fest • Catholic Women of the Church: Thirty-nine classes. Services Support: The Applicant shall: • Coordinate with Catholic Chaplain and the Catholic Parish Advisory Council. • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for Catholic Masses • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation; • Coordinate preparation of denominationally specific administrative support for priest for Catholic Rites, Sacraments, and Ordinances • Coordinate parents meetings for sacramental preparation • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for special events in support of the liturgical year such as Advent, Christmas, Lenten/Easter programs and holy days of obligation etc. • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for parish activities. • Obtain and maintain parish records for sacraments • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for special parish and religious Advent/Christmas, Lent/Holy Week/Easter, Patronal Feast Day, Baccalaureate Mass, etc. • Coordinate denominationally specific administrative support for the Catholic Parish Program Budget. • Coordinate services to provide denominationally specific, professional, administrative support including obtaining, preparing, recording, sending, and maintaining official records as required by the Catholic Church. • Coordinate for Parish programs events including promotional endeavors and advertising campaigns. • Maintain adequate records of functions, attendance and materials needed. • Project the timely supply of support materials and classroom supplies for sacramental preparation classes and meetings. Hours of Operation: The Applicant is responsible for providing services between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except federal holidays or when the Facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings.
  • 5. The Applicant shall work four hours per day, from 09.00-13.00, Monday-Friday. The Applicant may be required to deliver services on American holidays and on weekends. On Sundays and holidays, the Applicant shall work six hours a day from 09.00-15.00. The community and or sponsoring chaplain can change the day, time or the format of the program to meet the needs of the congregation. Planning, training, and coordination meetings may be held during day time or evening hours, during the weekend. NOTE: Historically, the number of work hours per week did not exceed 26 hours. Qualifications: • Practicing Catholic, committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church and to the ministry of bringing Jesus’ sacred teachings to our children. • Have a Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Theology or Religious Studies . • Be able to resolve interpersonal conflicts and promote constructive working relations. • Maintain a respectful, positive, and spiritually sensitive environment. Must be able to work with Chapel staff members, all military personnel, Chapel volunteer lay leaders, and Chapel volunteers with diverse spiritual backgrounds. • Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and technology skills with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook and show ability to work with other software programs if necessary. • Motivated, self-starter, able to multitask and manage multiple priorities • Able to work independently and in a multicultural environment • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. • Ability to use technology and social media to enhance and support teaching, learning and communication efficiencies.
