Relationship between arts & community <ul><li>What does it mean to be Chinese American? </li></ul><ul><li>Are we just here for one generation or for generations to come? </li></ul><ul><li>Why the American born Chinese descendants view themselves more as Asian American than Chinese American? </li></ul><ul><li>A community can not be well established without a strong value proposition </li></ul><ul><li>Art and culture are the best way to unite the community, but often got neglected. </li></ul>

An easy entry to the western world for Chinese <ul><li>Political debate (Communism, China-Taiwan issue, Human rights, AIDS, Corruption, Poverty, Religion, etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>Shock value (some contemporary art) </li></ul><ul><li>M yth, Rara-Avis: 猎奇 Dragons, flying martial arts, etc </li></ul><ul><li>Is there a way that we don’t use any of the above? </li></ul>

Suggestion for art lovers <ul><li>Find the art that speaks to you </li></ul><ul><li>Judge artwork by yourself, not by the price tag or the fame </li></ul><ul><li>No need to worship any names, all artists and curators have ups and downs, just like in any other industry </li></ul><ul><li>Be careful with “Emperor’s new clothes” </li></ul>
