Alternative fuels including ethanol, natural gas, propane, hydrogen, biodiesel, electricity, and methan can help reduce dependence on petroleum. Ethanol makes up 25% of alternative fuels used in the US, while compressed natural gas accounts for 10% and electricity 31%. Developing infrastructure for alternative fuel corridors can help expand the share of renewable fuels used for transportation.
