3.Use active not passive voice: ‘voice’ refers to the
relationship of the verb to its subject. Active voice
means that the subject of the sentence does the action.

to your reader. Your objectives will be achieved only
with carefully considered and appropriate wording.

The unity in written refers
to the relevancy of ideas
and their uniformity. All the
sentences in the paragraph
should support the main
idea given in the topic
sentence.
9. Coherence is the serial order and logical presentation
of our idea for what we say. There is always order in
everything sometime there is order of time, order of
space and order of importance. Coherence also
means “clarity of expression”. It is the logical bridge
between words, sentences and paragraph.

Clarity in business writing refers to the short and
direct language. Business persons are generally
direct on what they want to say and they expect the
same from others. We need to reveal the point
directly what we want to say without beating about
the bush.
11. Conciseness
Business persons are very busy, so include only the
necessary words and direct message without
repetition. So, you need to choose the strongest
words to illustrate your points. It also save time and
resources of the receiver which play very significant
role in the field of business.
12. COURTESY
Courtesy is a means to maintain formality and
official tone in business writing. Official writing is
always systematic and rule governed when you
show your good manner, impress people and
increase your goodwill. It is a tack to avoid being
hurtful, irritating, low and annoying.
13. JARGON OR GOBBLEDEGOOK
Jargon /Gobbledegook is a language that use of much
technical terminology that creates confusion in business
writing. Jargon can seriously get in the way of business,
if no-one understand what people are talking about or
what they are writing about. This people happens when
people use pompous or long-winded wording and
phrasing to try to impress rather than to communicate.
Using jargon can result in one of two things-the reader
will get bored and stop reading.

We need to decide what to include in the text materials
and what to omit. Once we know the procedure, format
and design. We need to come up with the necessary
ideas and point to include. No matter what kind of
composition we are writing, we need to incorporate
different ideas or points. The more points you include,
the better your writing becomes. We need to discover

topic at the center and circle it. Then, you make
some branches of it’s relevant ideas.
18. Freewriting
Freewriting is a technique in which the author writes
their thoughts quickly and continuously without worrying
about form, style or even grammar. It also means a write
doesn’t stop writing and doesn’t take the time to edit or
adjust the ideas on the page even if a mistake is made.
The benefits of freewriting revolve around organization,
brainstorming and inspiration as well as beating writer’s
block and relieving certain anxieties. Just getting anything
written, even if it is imperfect, can jump-start creativity.
