A graduate froma Swiss Hotel School, I started my career with Metropolitan
Habtoor as a Management trainee, where I thoughthotels were not for me!
Lived in Canada for 5 years after my experience in Dubai, worked for several
brands including Dunkin donuts, Queen Elizabeth Hotel, Lordia and many more .
After the death of my Father that same year, I decided to moveback to Lebanon
and be with my family! While in Lebanon I received an offer to work with Marriott
1995 was a turning point in my career where I moved with Marriott to Warsaw
Poland, and Opened MarriottBeirut I 1996. This experience assured me that I was
never to work for hotels again! But finally I achieved the position of AssistantF/B
Manager that I always dreamed of while in University.
Early 1997 started my dream, with working with Hard Rock Café, I opened Beirut,
Amman, Bahrein, Dubai, Kuwait, SharmEl Sheikh. While working with HRC, I was
a part time instructor at the LebaneseAmerican University and loved it! My
teaching experience and professionalexperience allowed me to become Head
trainer for Hard Rock Middle Eastwhere all trainings wereconducted by myself.
Starting 2002, I needed a new challenge in my life and I took the education path,
whereI taught at AUT and the Balamand University but again, I did not think this
is whereI want to be!
During the few years that followed, started my journey as a junior consultantand
worked on some junior projects while continuing with both Universities.
2004 was a great year for me! I was hired by the group (CMG) that managed and
owned Le Crystal, Skybar and weopened Metis, Kitchen, Cbar Dubai, Crystal
London, CrystalBeach Ramatuelle France. While working on those projects as
Operation Director, we acquired the Idaratgroup and the journey continued for a
greater success!Thedeath of Rafic Haririand the 2006 war, werea turning point
into the downfallof the company.
2. In 2007 left to Sharmel Sheikh, whereI Managed probably the most successful
club in Egypt Le Pasha. I loved this experience but after a year wanted to come to
Lebanon to be with my family!
End of 2008, started to work as a deputy GM with Al Balad restaurantgroup,
wheremy job was to restructurethe back office, standardizethe franchise
department and improveoperation. We signed Doha, Opened Kuwait, and
expended KSA
Sadly Tarek Barakatwent on a hunting trip to Ethiopia and never came back! This
incident left me so bitter and so sad, that I decided to stop working in the
restaurantbusiness!
Went back to education for a while and early 2013 worked on a projectin Doha
and opened LADUREE as a coordinator between NBQ (Qtari Franchisee) and
LADUREE Management. Itwas a great learning experience that lasted a year!
After this experience, I wanted something new in my life! With a friend of mine,
we opened a restaurantcleaning company in Montreal Canada and we did lot of
work for great brands such as AMIR, BASHA, RESTOPRO, CENTROPOLISand many
more!
While working on this beautiful project, I did consulting work for AMIR(60
restaurants), I was working on the standardization of the back of the houseand
back office KIT.
After so many years of work and experience, I am embarking with my 2 partners
in a consulting projectthat will take us to supportrestaurantowners fixtheir
problems, train there staff and do whatever it takes to keep them in the business!
While doing that, I am putting this great long packageof mine to shareit with the
new restaurantgeneration to improvethis industry in Lebanon and where ever
needed!
