Affordance as a medium
“A product in its most simplified form may be easier to modify than a more specialized
product, as hackers identify and act upon affordances that aid in modification”

Workshops
Would you do it at home?
InHouse project
by David Steiner
Disassembly
Our main focus was participants
attitude towards disassembling
products to understand them.
Following the 'black box' theory of
Latour we assumed that the artefacts
presented in the workshop would be
seen as a singular whole although while
containing many elements embodying a
large network of interactions.
Schematic Explanations
Product development
Conclusions
Damaging devices or themselves
Once exposed , every product is an
opportunity
users would cross connect products through
components to each-other to create and adopt
new products for new scenarios.
Transparency and communication
surveyed participants experience evaluation,
showed significant optimism in participants
trust and eager to be modifying products of
their own
