This showcases how Xedapp is used
by a Finance Department to collate AR
information from a distributed sales
force so they can get an accurate
picture of their receivables for their
quarter end

An AR sheet (showing details page). This information should be
collated from multiple people to get a status of the overall AR
situation


With Xedapp installed, a new Ribbon appears that allows for the
sheet to be cascaded to multiple users and their responses
collated automatically … from within Microsoft Excel


Xedapp adds some basic properties to the sheet to aid this
collaboration … it identifies the sheet to be part of a Business
Activity


And indicates how the list collation should take place, identifying
the invoice number as the key, the remarks and collections by as
the columns to be updated and Email for identity verification


The entire activity is kicked-off through a browser interface. No
more emails to a large number of people and keeping track of
the responses and versions


The collator creates a ‘new activity’ by naming it …


creating a notification message, …


attaching the Excel sheet to it, …


and identifying the people that will be involved through the
directory interface.


This shows the activity in a ‘social’ page where you can see the
messages, comments and …


the people involved in it.


Here, one of them, Barbara, opens her Excel, and through the
Xedapp Social sidebar, pulls the document into her workspace
for updating it


She updates her portion (Excel based restrictions on not
updating other’s values, other columns, etc. can be setup easily)


She enters a notification message that indicates she is complete
…


and posts the updated sheet back to the server. No email
messages or attachments.


The collator gets notified, and can see everyone’s inputs on the
portal as they are updated


He opens his Xedapp Social sidebar, and sees the updates there
as well


He then proceeds to insert the values into his master sheet.
Based on the rules he setup, the merge occurs intelligently and
his sheet is up to date with everyone’s inputs


With no multiple file openings and switching to Email, all his
updates are done!
