Service Marketing
Review Question (pg. 54, no. 12)
The term "marketing mix" could suggest that marketing managers are mixers of ingredients. Is that perspective a recipe for success when employing
the 7 Ps to develop a services marketing strategy?
The marketing mix is a business tool used in marketing products. The marketing mix is often crucial when determining a product or brand's unique
selling point, meaning that the unique quality that differentiates a product from its competitors, and is often synonymous with the 4 Ps: price, product,
promotion, and place. However, in recent times, the 4Ps have been expanded to the 7 Ps with the addition of process, physical evidence and people.

marketing mix begins with creating service concept that will offer value to target customers and satisfy their needs better than competing alternatives.
Service product in this 7Ps altered consists of 2 elements which are core product and supplementary service elements. According to the book Service
Marketing 7th edition, the core product is the central component that supplies the principal, problem solving benefits customers seek. The
supplementary service is the variety of other service–related activities referred that usually accompanied the core product. The core products tend to
become commodities as an industry matures and competition increase, so the search for competitive and advantage often emphasize supplementary
services. For example, in the hotels industry, the core product is the rooms provided. The supplementary services with regard to the hotel industry are
the information obtained by the customer; order taking that includes applications, order entry, and reservations or check–ins; the billing; and also
payment in terms of is the hotel have variety of payment options exist, and in terms of how convenience and ease that options to the customers.
The next Ps is place and time. Nowadays, services distributions not only involve a physical channel but also electronic channels or

Network Marketing
What is Network Marketing?
Multi–level marketing (MLM), also known as Network Marketing, is a business–distribution model that allows a parent company to market its
products directly to consumers by means of relationship referrals and direct selling.
Independent, unsalaried salespeople of multi–level marketing, referred to as distributors (or associates, independent business owners, franchise owners,
sales consultants, consultants, independent agents, etc.), represent the parent company and are awarded a commission based upon the volume of
product sold through each of their independent businesses (organizations).

They usually do some personal retailing, which may involve talking to their friends and relatives about a particular product or service. Some
organisations encourage the development of a substantial retail base, which is always a good idea. As you will be making a tidy sum of money on the
side, you might now want to recommend this business model to some of your friends. After all – they probably want to earn some extra money too!
They start at the head of their own business, and they also build up a small retail turnover. They make exactly the same money from that as you do
from your own retail business. However, because you introduced them, you also get a small bonus payment from the company by way of a reward for
spreading the word. After all, because of your efforts, the company is now making more money.

8 Free Marketing Tools Every Service Business Needs
As a business owner, you only have so many hours in a day. You know that marketing is vital to growing your business and getting your brand out
there, but how do you add this in on top of all the other tasks? Most small businesses can't afford to hire a full–time marketing person to handle tasks,
which means that the work falls to the manager, an administrative assistant, or workers who are already doing other tasks.
Fortunately, there are some marketing tools that can help your service business with marketing. Since these tools at least have a free level, you can
start with a zero budget and work your way up from there.

Great Marking Essay
How you mark your business sets the tone for all that you do a while later: How you publicize, how you handle your clients... indeed, even the
presence of your business and its items. That is on the grounds that your image is the identity and character of your association and everything
mirrors that personality... your logo, you're publicizing, your storefront. Think Mac PCs: at whatever time you stroll into an Apple store, the office,
its workers, the window shows... everything says "we're cool, we're inventive, we're on the front line." Go to any Wafer Barrel eatery and everything
says" "we're friendly, we're nation, and we serve corn meal." This permits the client to associate on an individual level. The purpose of marking is to
offer clients an unmistakable decision. In the event that you detest nation home cooking you avoid Wafer Barrel. On the off chance that you adore

After one hour of trying to figure out what was happening to my business, I was more confused than ever.
I sent an email to EBay the day after trying to enquire why my store was cancelled and EBay replied back with an automated email with information
that was not relevant to my case.
What made the Incident dissatisfying * There was no customer support system set up in Australia. * Customer had to contact service support in
America. * Communication was really poor, no reply was made on EBay's behalf through phone or email. * The operator was rude and lacked
communication skills. * No service recovery was in place, or customers weren't provided with another option. * Level of attention was low, the
operator didn't care and showed frustration really easily.
What could or should have been done differently
This whole incident could have been prevented if there was actually a customer service support based in Australia, or if EBay actively replied to
customers regarding their specific issues, instead of replying via an automated email system that sent out generic responses. The operator could have
handled the situation much more efficiently, instead of letting the situation control her attitude. It seems that EBay had no recovery strategy in place to
combat these complex issues and they only rely on a computer system to solve problems that require

Explain How To Mark A Book By Adler
I believe the methods or teachings of the author in regards to how to properly engage in literature have not lost its value because a lot of people
these days still use his methods while reading a book of a love story or a poem. I love the way that Adler teach me how to mark a book while
reading a story because at the time of reopening the book, the small notes that i wrote will help me remember where I stopped reading. One person
that I have seen with my own eyes that use the authors methods while reading a book is my professor from writing and my literature professor. In my
case, I have never tried the method of marking a book while I read it. This will be my first time to do that while reading an article or an essay, let's see
how it goes.
From my point of view, it is essential to mark a book because in this way you interact with the story. These notes will record what you read and they
will keep you in synchronization with what the author write about. Having said that, I know someone that marks her book a lot and she uses a lot of
the methods Adler mentioned in the essay. The person that I am talking about is my professor. One day I was in her class and saw that one book that

However, when I read this essay about how to mark a book I realize that it is a very interesting and a fun idea to just read something fun and try to
use Alders methods to make it easier and fun for me. I agree that if I start reading something that I like and then write little notes about it, it will help
me understand the story better and it will also help me to express myself. I am the type of person that when I read a story I tend to forget some parts,
so, if I start underlining key words or circling phrases will help me remember the thoughts that the author had when he or she said something. With this
in mind, I will start reading more now and use the methods the writer talks about in this

The Meaning of Service Essay
The Meaning of Service
Service is a word used constantly. The word service has an impression on many people. For example; people who work as lifeguards view their work as
a service to the community. Naturally, based on working as a lifeguard their definition of service would be an action beneficial to the well–being of
others. Not surprisingly, a similar definition was found in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED). Service is described in the Oxford English Dictionary
as "the action of serving, helping, or benefiting; conduct tending to the welfare or advantage of another; condition or employment of a public servant;
friendly or professional assistance." Furthermore, in Webster's Ninth NewCollegiate Dictionary, service is...show more content...
A service berry is "any one of various American trees or shrubs of the genus Amelanchier" (Dictionary of Americanisms). The second definition was
one many may not have recognized right away. Service is "public worship according to form and order" (OED). After people read this they think, of
course! People are always saying "are you going to attend service on Sunday?" Many immediately think the word service means providing for another
and completely forget by attending mass they are performing a service to a higher being.
Becoming so firmly planted in one definition of service people tend to ignore its other uses. A strong attachment to one definition or another can be
attributed to working as a lifeguard or work with other programs like YouVote. With YouVote, participants are helping and benefitting others by
providing them with information important to upcoming elections. By providing people with information it helps them along their way to making an
educated decision when they vote. Working with YouVote has helped to extend the definition of service to all persons who help or serve others like;
waitresses, teachers, lifeguards, doctors, lawyers, coaches, and the government. The government continuously provides "service" to our country, or at
least they try. The many readings in WRA135 class have shown the government needs to provide more service to those in need like all those living

looking at industry ideal and best practices from other companies. This process of obtaining a measure is a way of examining and discovering what is
the best production being achieved whether in a particular industry, company, competitor or a different business. It is a way of examining how others
achieve their performance level and understand the processes and steps they use. This dimensions usually measures quality, time and cost using a
specific indicator resulting in a metric performance that is going to be compared to others. The application of this practice usually involves four key
steps: Understand in detail current business processes, Analyze the business procedures and process of others, compare/contrast own business
performance/production with the others analyzed and implement the steps necessary to close the performance gap. There are four primary types of
bench marking: functional, internal, competitive and generic. Functional benchmarking is the process of comparing to similar or identical practices
within the same functions outside the instant industry. This practice provides trend information regarding the industry and shows quantitative

The position of SQA's National Qualifications on the norm–referenced, criteria–referenced continuum is determined. The implications for grading
following from the use of criteria rather than norms are discussed, with an example. Possible methods of extending the principles of mark–based
grading to competence–based awards are proposed. It is argued on resource and psychometric grounds that for grading to be efficient the numbers and
variety of components used to assess particular qualifications and subjects should be kept to the minimum compatible with adequate coverage of the
content and skills that characterise them. Similar cautions are made about the aggregation of grades from heterogeneous subjects to form group
awards. Annex 2 discusses the psychometric background to these arguments. The future Ongoing societal changes discussed in Section 3 continue to
create new needs and assessment opportunities. Section 5 discusses a number of new developments – in qualification delivery and responses to
perceived needs – that will all create their own grading demands. Background material Annex 1 reports an analysis of the grading systems of school
leaving qualifications from 62 countries outside the UK, which considers 72 different national, regional and other systems. Three approaches to
grading are identified – percentiles, quality of work and marks. In common with the majority of countries that use grades,

Throughout Romeo and Juliet the theme of conflict is conveyed in many forms, mostly through physical violence; reflected in the era of the
Renaissance where there was political turmoil and many European nations were at war. Shakespeare presents the theme in other forms as well;
family versus family, sacred versus profane, parent versus child and language versus inner conflict. Conflict is a key in the structure of the play; it is
highlighted in the beginning, middle and end. As an audience we are constantly being reminded of conflict which is reflected within the era the play
was written in. The Renaissance was the 'rebirth ' of classical learning and was also the time when Science challenged many traditional Christian
beliefs which resulted in Catholics fighting Protestants; the Gunpowder plot and the Spanish Armada. Shakespeare chose to dramatise conflict as it
was the context in which he was writing plays. It is therefore arguable that this period was characterised by irreconcilable opposites in politics, religion
and art. Nothing in the world can exist without its opposite– just as love cannot exist without hate, violence cannot exist without peace. Struggling with

Marketing Definition Essay
Marketing definition
Every company depends on an efficient marketing program to fulfill customers' needs. Marketing is a process of finding out what the customer wants
and meeting those requirements. Within the company, the marketing group has to consider customer values and customer satisfaction before
considering offering a product. Marketing is part of our everyday world, and can be perceived everywhere and every time. At any time, everyone has
been exposed to different kinds of marketing or advertising depending upon personal necessities such as T.V commercials, radio, internet, etc.

This entire process is known as marketing management " the art and science of choosing target markets and getting, keeping, and growing customers
through creating, delivering, and communicating superior customer value" (Kotler & Keller, p.5).
To be successful in business, "a consumer does not buy a whole of physical components of the product but it is usefulness, function, satisfaction of
consumer's needs, solving the problem, etc" (Dubrouski, , p.1). "That is why the product is a whole of tangible and intangible components which
means satisfaction of consumer's needs and desires, solving the problem"(Dubrouski, p.1). Companies and managers must learn to utilize marketing
research, as well as, strategy skills to fulfill customers' satisfaction. Management has to focus on exclusive marketing challenges presented by the new
era of the 21st century. Management has to be able to utilize inventive, dominant, and cost effective marketing techniques that will support the future
success of the organization. Companies must meet,"the increasing importance of services as part of a product (offer, offering package) which cannot

3Ps of Services Marketing – Physical Evidence Physical evidence refers to the environment in which the service is assembled and in which the seller
and customer interact, combined with tangible commodities that facilitate performance or communication of the service. The physical evidence of
service includes all the tangible representations of service such as brochures, letterhead, business cards, reports, signage, internet presence and
equipment. For example, in the hotel industry, the design, furnishing, lighting, layout and decoration of the hotel as well as the appearance and
attitudes of its employees will influence customer perceptions of the service quality and experiences. Because of the simultaneous production and
consumption of most services, the physical facility i.e. its servicescape can play an important role in the service experience.

Essay about Service Marketing
Introduction
In an ideal situation, customers would not have to wait for the delivery of products and services. However, in the real world, organizations cannot
always match exact capability and demand; therefore, waiting is frequently inevitable while purchasing, especially in service marketing, as service
firms can barely inventory their "stock" for sale at a later date (Lovelock, 1992, p.154). In general, waiting in lines – known as "queuing", happens
when the number of customers arrive at a facility exceeds the capability of the system to serve them (Lovelock & Wirtz, 2011, p.260). Basically, this
essay will state the relationship between queuing and customer satisfaction, as well as relationship between customer satisfaction and...show more

When the consumer is waiting alone and have nothing to do, especially in an unfamiliar facility, the feeling of boring, uncertain about waiting time,
stress and anxiety will be increasingly enlarged with time passing. Queuing also seems more burdensome if people feel physically uncomfortable.
Moreover, because of a fear of "been forgotten", the senses of "get started" of customers are fervent. It is claimed that the anxiety level is much
higher while waiting to be served than it is while being served, even though the latter queuing will be longer (Lovelock & Wirtz, 2011, p.267; Maister,
1985).
Unpleasant waiting experience might accompany with customers go through the whole service process, which could lower the overall evaluation of
service quality easily. Not only the queuing experience, a number of studies also investigated that queuing time in a service organization significantly
influences consumer satisfaction. In general, increasing in waiting time is associated with decreasing in customer satisfaction (Katz, M.Larson &
C.Larson, 1991). The graph (Dube, Renaghan & Miller, 1994) below shows the effect of waiting time on customer satisfaction in restaurant industry,
and suggests that most consumers do not satisfied if the waiting time is longer than 8 minutes. In addition, another study (Jones & Dent, 1994)
examined that 70% of respondents considered waiting time as a major

The marketing mix is often crucial when determining a product or brand's unique selling point, meaning that the unique quality that differentiates a product from its competitors, and is often synonymous with the 4 Ps: price, product, promotion, and place. Multi–level marketing (MLM), also known as Network Marketing, is a business–distribution model that allows a parent company to market its products directly to consumers by means of relationship referrals and direct selling. Independent, unsalaried salespeople of multi–level marketing, referred to as distributors (or associates, independent business owners, franchise owners, sales consultants, consultants, independent agents, etc.), represent the parent company and are awarded a commission based upon the volume of product sold through each of their independent businesses (organizations). Some organisations encourage the development of a substantial retail base, which is always a good idea. As you will be making a tidy sum of money on the side, you might now want to recommend this business model to some of your friends. After all – they probably want to earn some extra money too! They start at the head of their own business, and they also build up a small retail turnover. They make exactly the same money from that as you do from your own retail business. However, because you introduced them, you also get a small bonus payment from the company by way of a reward for spreading the word. Your upline will offer you help and advice because they won't succeed until they help a number of their downline also to succeed! The more money you make, the more money they make. Great Marking Essay How you mark your business sets the tone for all that you do a while later: How you publicize, how you handle your clients... indeed, even the presence of your business and its items. That is on the grounds that your image is the identity and character of your association and everything mirrors that personality... your logo, you're publicizing, your storefront. Go to any Wafer Barrel eatery and everything says" "we're friendly, we're nation, and we serve corn meal." This permits the client to associate on an individual level. What made the Incident dissatisfying * There was no customer support system set up in Australia. * Customer had to contact service support in America. * Communication was really poor, no reply was made on EBay's behalf through phone or email. * The operator was rude and lacked communication skills. * No service recovery was in place, or customers weren't provided with another option. * Level of attention was low, the operator didn't care and showed frustration really easily. What could or should have been done differently This whole incident could have been prevented if there was actually a customer service support based in Australia, or if EBay actively replied to customers regarding their specific issues, instead of replying via an automated email system that sent out generic responses. • 9. Explain How To Mark A Book By Adler I believe the methods or teachings of the author in regards to how to properly engage in literature have not lost its value because a lot of people these days still use his methods while reading a book of a love story or a poem. I love the way that Adler teach me how to mark a book while reading a story because at the time of reopening the book, the small notes that i wrote will help me remember where I stopped reading. One person that I have seen with my own eyes that use the authors methods while reading a book is my professor from writing and my literature professor. In my case, I have never tried the method of marking a book while I read it. This will be my first time to do that while reading an article or an essay, let's see how it goes. From my point of view, it is essential to mark a book because in this way you interact with the story. These notes will record what you read and they will keep you in synchronization with what the author write about. Having said that, I know someone that marks her book a lot and she uses a lot of the methods Adler mentioned in the essay. The person that I am talking about is my professor. However, when I read this essay about how to mark a book I realize that it is a very interesting and a fun idea to just read something fun and try to use Alders methods to make it easier and fun for me. I agree that if I start reading something that I like and then write little notes about it, it will help me understand the story better and it will also help me to express myself. I am the type of person that when I read a story I tend to forget some parts, so, if I start underlining key words or circling phrases will help me remember the thoughts that the author had when he or she said something. With this in mind, I will start reading more now and use the methods the writer talks about in this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. The Meaning of Service Essay The Meaning of Service Service is a word used constantly. The word service has an impression on many people. For example; people who work as lifeguards view their work as a service to the community. Naturally, based on working as a lifeguard their definition of service would be an action beneficial to the well–being of others. Not surprisingly, a similar definition was found in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED). Service is described in the Oxford English Dictionary as "the action of serving, helping, or benefiting; conduct tending to the welfare or advantage of another; condition or employment of a public servant; friendly or professional assistance." Furthermore, in Webster's Ninth NewCollegiate Dictionary, service is...show more content... A service berry is "any one of various American trees or shrubs of the genus Amelanchier" (Dictionary of Americanisms). The second definition was one many may not have recognized right away. Service is "public worship according to form and order" (OED). After people read this they think, of course! People are always saying "are you going to attend service on Sunday?" Many immediately think the word service means providing for another and completely forget by attending mass they are performing a service to a higher being. Becoming so firmly planted in one definition of service people tend to ignore its other uses. A strong attachment to one definition or another can be attributed to working as a lifeguard or work with other programs like YouVote. With YouVote, participants are helping and benefitting others by providing them with information important to upcoming elections. By providing people with information it helps them along their way to making an educated decision when they vote. Working with YouVote has helped to extend the definition of service to all persons who help or serve others like; waitresses, teachers, lifeguards, doctors, lawyers, coaches, and the government. The government continuously provides "service" to our country, or at least they try. The many readings in WRA135 class have shown the government needs to provide more service to those in need like all those living below the poverty line and/or on Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Marks into Grades: A discussion of the underlying issues Executive summary Grades and grading This report was produced by Dr Mike Kingdon, Principal Education Consultant, Entity Group Ltd, in March 2009. Given the inevitable annual variations in the standards of individual examination components, most writers concur that marks alone are inadequate for reporting results. Converting ...show more content... The position of SQA's National Qualifications on the norm–referenced, criteria–referenced continuum is determined. The implications for grading following from the use of criteria rather than norms are discussed, with an example. Possible methods of extending the principles of mark–based grading to competence–based awards are proposed. It is argued on resource and psychometric grounds that for grading to be efficient the numbers and variety of components used to assess particular qualifications and subjects should be kept to the minimum compatible with adequate coverage of the content and skills that characterise them. Similar cautions are made about the aggregation of grades from heterogeneous subjects to form group awards. Annex 2 discusses the psychometric background to these arguments. The future Ongoing societal changes discussed in Section 3 continue to create new needs and assessment opportunities. Section 5 discusses a number of new developments – in qualification delivery and responses to perceived needs – that will all create their own grading demands. Background material Annex 1 reports an analysis of the grading systems of school leaving qualifications from 62 countries outside the UK, which considers 72 different national, regional and other systems. Three approaches to grading are identified – percentiles, quality of work and marks. In common with the majority of countries that use grades, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Throughout Romeo and Juliet the theme of conflict is conveyed in many forms, mostly through physical violence; reflected in the era of the Renaissance where there was political turmoil and many European nations were at war. Shakespeare presents the theme in other forms as well; family versus family, sacred versus profane, parent versus child and language versus inner conflict. Conflict is a key in the structure of the play; it is highlighted in the beginning, middle and end. As an audience we are constantly being reminded of conflict which is reflected within the era the play was written in. The Renaissance was the 'rebirth ' of classical learning and was also the time when Science challenged many traditional Christian beliefs which resulted in Catholics fighting Protestants; the Gunpowder plot and the Spanish Armada. Shakespeare chose to dramatise conflict as it was the context in which he was writing plays. It is therefore arguable that this period was characterised by irreconcilable opposites in politics, religion and art. Nothing in the world can exist without its opposite– just as love cannot exist without hate, violence cannot exist without peace. Struggling with your essay? We can help! • 20. Essay about Service Marketing Introduction In an ideal situation, customers would not have to wait for the delivery of products and services. However, in the real world, organizations cannot always match exact capability and demand; therefore, waiting is frequently inevitable while purchasing, especially in service marketing, as service firms can barely inventory their "stock" for sale at a later date (Lovelock, 1992, p.154). In general, waiting in lines – known as "queuing", happens when the number of customers arrive at a facility exceeds the capability of the system to serve them (Lovelock & Wirtz, 2011, p.260). When the consumer is waiting alone and have nothing to do, especially in an unfamiliar facility, the feeling of boring, uncertain about waiting time, stress and anxiety will be increasingly enlarged with time passing. Queuing also seems more burdensome if people feel physically uncomfortable. Moreover, because of a fear of "been forgotten", the senses of "get started" of customers are fervent. It is claimed that the anxiety level is much higher while waiting to be served than it is while being served, even though the latter queuing will be longer (Lovelock & Wirtz, 2011, p.267; Maister, 1985). Not only the queuing experience, a number of studies also investigated that queuing time in a service organization significantly influences consumer satisfaction. In general, increasing in waiting time is associated with decreasing in customer satisfaction (Katz, M.Larson & C.Larson, 1991). The graph (Dube, Renaghan & Miller, 1994) below shows the effect of waiting time on customer satisfaction in restaurant industry, and suggests that most consumers do not satisfied if the waiting time is longer than 8 minutes.
