Telling The Truth Analysis
Ever since I was a little kid my parents always told me that I should always tell the truth and that I should never lie to them or anyone else and that if
I did lie I would get in trouble. But telling the truth all the time was no easy task even when I was a kid. Telling the truth is heavily emphasized in our
everyday lives. People on trial must take an oath and tell the truth and nothing but the truth. People must tell the truth about their past when trying to get
a government related job. But can telling the truth be a negative thing? Can you lose your home, family, job, friends and everything else by telling how
it is instead of sugarcoating it?
In the book, "Morality Stories," (Braswell, Pollock, &Brasswell, 2012) in part three of...show more content...
Geraldine Stevens was going through a rough patch with her husband and was telling this story to the bartender who could carless. She was ready
to leave him and go live with her parents. The no name overhears the conversation but does not say anything and decides to leave the bar and go
home to his beautiful wife Natalie and his daughter Natasha. The no name goes outside of the bar to wave down a cab when all of sudden Geraldine
Stevens walks up and stands right next him. She asked him if he would help her catch a cab; but for some strange reason, the no name thought she said,
"Will you help me" (Brawswell et al., 2012, p. 145). Thinking back to the conversation she was having with the bartender earlier, the no name spoke
his mind without a filter on his mouth about her situation. He says, "Geraldine, you need to leave that worthless bastard and go home to your parents
before you lose yourself or worse ––– your son's life" (Brawswell et al., 2012, p. 145). Geraldine in disbelief, grabbed the money and hoped in the cab
and left. From that day on; the no name started telling what was on his mind in every situation. He got fired from work, his wife kicked him out, and
then he lost his second job as well until he had nothing but self peace (Braswell et al.,

Truth Is Truth
"The truth is rarely pure and never simple", claims Oscar Wilde. Truth is very complicated, as people understand it in different ways. Truth is a
statement, which never changes and does not depend on people's feelings. In other words, truth is reality and the action expressed without any changes
or edit. The matters that people can accept as truth are what they believe. For instance, if people are not sure about events they need to have foolproof
statistics, facts or evidence; as a result, "truth", is a conviction in which people believe and which is impossible to make false. "Whatever else realists
say, they typically say that they believe in a correspondence theory of truth" (Putnam, 1978, p. 18). At the same time, the question "does my truth is
also truth for others?", or "does their truth is also truth for me?" can mislead people since they have already accepted and comprehended their own truth
individually. Telling the truth and accepting it is a very complicated issue as people define the word "truth" differently. Firs of all, scientists have
always been engaged in defining "truth" throughout history and philosophy up to modern times. The etymology of the word "truth" covers 20th
century. "Aletheia", which means truth, was used in ancient Greek philosophy and...show more content...

Truth
The question of right and wrong has been battled over for centuries. Many conservatives still believe that truth is absolute, while others disagree, saying
that truth is relative. I believe that truth is an individual's perception of beliefs and decisions.
For that reason, truth differentiates among individuals thorough their contrasting opinions. But, truth is something that everyone believes to be correct.
Thus, it greatly depends on what's true in the minds of the people. On the contrary, truth that's spoken with bad intent is considered to be worse than a
lie. Hence, truth is an expression, symbol or statement that corresponds to reality and happiness.
Truth is dominated by one's subjective thoughts and beliefs. It is a...show more content...
Nevertheless, I also consider truth to be absolute, and therefore, it is never right to do wrong. Truth is the purity that differentiates between right and
wrong. "Absolute Truth" is true regardless of what we believe and think. Absolute truth stands on its own. In the sense, absolute truth is absolutely true
no matter what evidence there is for it. Truth is what corresponds to the facts. Truth does not change just because we learn something about it.
Also, truth is not always good to say. If the objective of telling the truth is to hurt someone, then it is considered to be inferior to a most terrible lie. For
that reason, while speaking the truth we should keep in mind that it doesn't hurt someone else's feelings or relations. The problem we face is that, we
feel the urge to tell the truth when we see it. But, we should try to accomplish this without disapproving condemnations that hurt others. So when we
freely express harsh judgment of another, we are in fact talking about those negative qualities of ourselves that trouble us the most.
Likewise, care should be taken that truth that's spoken for self–satisfaction does not impair someone else's life. Similarly, we should always bear in
mind that at times lie can also be beneficial to say if, it brings happiness to others. Hence, if the truth is spoken with the purpose of destruction of
something or someone then

Truth Telling in Today's Society Essay
Truth Telling in Today's Society
Truth–telling has become altered in today's society. In certain situations it is all right to lie or deceive. People have regarded truth–telling as overrated.
It is amazing the words we put with the word lying. We call them so many various things such as; exaggeration, little white lies, half truths, deceptions,
and fibbing. Lying has become a very complicated topic today. Lying can be used in many different ways such as; to protect the innocent, for tradition,
and the esteem of individuals. On the other hand, lying can be used as a tool of deception and manipulation. When used in this manner lying becomes
detrimental to an individual and to a society. "We need to sort out what is and what is not...show more content...
. . a lie. A little white lie to our children is not half as bad as the disappointment in their faces when they come home from school one day crying
because a big fifth grader told them the "truth" about St. Nick. How could we let our children lead a childhood filled with no Christmas wonder and
mystery, or a Christmas Eve gazing out of the steam–covered window in hopes for one peak of Rudolph's nose and a flying sleigh? How important is
the self esteem of an individual? One could argue that it is the difference of them living a happy successful life or to one extreme committing
suicide. We have all been asked the infamous, "How do I look?", or "Do I look fat in this?" question, but how many people would answer truthfully
when the answer would not be the one that we would hope to receive ourselves? "Telling the whole truth about everything to everybody at all times
is an impossibility, but even if it were possible it probably wouldn't be desirable. (qtd. in Hooke, 209)" Therefor in the circumstances of deeply hurting
an individuals feelings or diminishing their selfesteem truth altering must be acceptable. In all aspects of advertising lying is the dominating
technique. Manipulating society to consume a product is in all moral standings, wrong. Using a societies weaknesses to gain clients and business is a
deceiving way to earn a living and takes a morally objectionable individual to

The Truth Essay
The Truth How can we define truth when we don't even know the interpretations of what truth is? What I found very interesting was this quote "Half of
a truth is not the Truth". I believe that when we tell the truth we never tell 100% of the truth. We might be embarrassed about the whole truth or maybe
we just don't want to tell how we handled the situation so we remove our part or change our part from the truth. Telling the truth is hard, we never
know how the opposite side will react on the truth. It makes us insecure to tell the truth, we don't want to be in a position where we can be questioned.
And do we really want to hear the truth, as Jack...show more content...
I've come to this point where I only believe in facts. Because we can see from the point of telling the truth, "half of the truth is not the truth", what
we are told is not completely true. But when you really believe in the truth, when you know for certain that something is true, you are in a position
where you don't have to tell anyone else, because you know what the truth is and you don't have to care who'll believe in you or not. We can take
love for instance, when I know, when my heart tells me that I'm in love with someone I don't have to explained myself. When you truly believe in
something, then you are certain that it's the truth, and that is when you have all the facts or when it comes to feelings. And I have also come to a
point where I really don't believe that we human beings never believes 100% in the truth, I think we have some doubts that makes it harder for us to
completely believe. I believe that when we know the truth we also believe in it and we also tell about it. But still I come back to "half of the truth is
not the truth" how much truth do we know? I know that what teachers tells us is partly true, we can take history as an example. What our history
teacher tells us doesn't have to be the truth, he wasn't there, the only information he has is books and this quote is quite interesting "Historians from
England will say I am a liar, but history is written

Importance Of Telling The Truth
According to Filippo Menczer, "We can make our fight against fake news more efficient if we better understand how bad information spreads."
However, the truth holds value and keeps our society accountable. Once a lie is published, it causes confusion and unnecessary commotion. Although,
telling the truth can be a difficult choice to make, it is often times the correct decision to make. False information creates numerous repercussions within
personal relationships, science, and society. As Jean–Paul Sartre once stated, "The worst thing about being lied to is knowing you're not worth the
truth." This pertains to several types of relationships including friendships, professional relationships, and romantic relationships. Relationships are
built on a foundation of trust. Without honesty and faithfulness, there is no basis for a relationship. Anyone would choose to be with someone who is
honest and trustworthy over someone who goes behind your back and is constantly lying. The truth is of utmost importance and allows healthy
relationships to flourish and unhealthy relationships to be weeded out, quickly. Relationships are a key part of life and understanding the role that the
truth plays in all relationships will allow a person to develop strong and beneficial relationships over the course of their life. By realizing the high value
truth holds, it will prevent unnecessary heartache, defective business decisions, and wasted time. Telling someone the truth, even when it is

"I had to tell the truth", the words resembling neon signboards blinking in my mind as I recalled the incident that happened just three days ago.
The entire scene was glued in my memory as I shuddered just at the thought of it...... I could smell the perspiration in the air as the bustling crowds
of people frenzied pass me, sticky and sweaty bodies took their turns pressing against me. It felt like I was in a maze where the only things visible
were bobbing heads and scuttling feet of different shapes and sizes below me. I finally escaped the jungle as I stepped out of the train station. I
decided to take a walk down to my favourite coffeehouse just two streets away. After trudging in the hot sun for what seemed like an hour, I stepped

I finally understood what happened – Aunt Mable started to feel lonely as Uncle Pete was always either away on a business trip or working over
time. He never really had enough time for her anymore, unlike the past where he would always be home after 8pm, accompanying her in the night.
That guy was a colleague of hers named Sean that she met while working part–time. Sean was loving, sweet, compassionate and was in every way like
her husband, whom she missed to spend time with very much. That was how the affair started between them. Uncle Pete also explained to me why
he was not angry because asked himself several times what could the reason be to lead Aunt Mable into having an extramarital affair, and he realized
that this was partially his fault, if he had not neglected Aunt Mable of the love, care and concern she needed, she would not have done it. Aunt Mable
also felt awful that she allowed herself to go to that extent of hurting Uncle Pete's feelings and that he still forgave her for what she had committed.
After listening to it, I could feel the strong love they still had for each other and that it was a stupid mistake of Aunt Mable's, she even thanked me for
telling her husband, because if not for me telling the truth, things would have became worse.
After the incident, I felt like a huge boulder had been lifted off my

When you truly believe in something, then you are certain that it's the truth, and that is when you have all the facts or when it comes to feelings. And I have also come to a point where I really don't believe that we human beings never believes 100% in the truth, I think we have some doubts that makes it harder for us to completely believe. I believe that when we know the truth we also believe in it and we also tell about it. But still I come back to "half of the truth is not the truth" how much truth do we know? I know that what teachers tells us is partly true, we can take history as an example. What our history teacher tells us doesn't have to be the truth, he wasn't there, the only information he has is books and this quote is quite interesting "Historians from England will say I am a liar, but history is written Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Importance Of Telling The Truth According to Filippo Menczer, "We can make our fight against fake news more efficient if we better understand how bad information spreads." However, the truth holds value and keeps our society accountable. Once a lie is published, it causes confusion and unnecessary commotion. Although, telling the truth can be a difficult choice to make, it is often times the correct decision to make. False information creates numerous repercussions within personal relationships, science, and society. As Jean–Paul Sartre once stated, "The worst thing about being lied to is knowing you're not worth the truth." This pertains to several types of relationships including friendships, professional relationships, and romantic relationships. Relationships are built on a foundation of trust. Without honesty and faithfulness, there is no basis for a relationship. Anyone would choose to be with someone who is honest and trustworthy over someone who goes behind your back and is constantly lying. The truth is of utmost importance and allows healthy relationships to flourish and unhealthy relationships to be weeded out, quickly. Relationships are a key part of life and understanding the role that the truth plays in all relationships will allow a person to develop strong and beneficial relationships over the course of their life. By realizing the high value truth holds, it will prevent unnecessary heartache, defective business decisions, and wasted time. • 7. "I had to tell the truth", the words resembling neon signboards blinking in my mind as I recalled the incident that happened just three days ago. The entire scene was glued in my memory as I shuddered just at the thought of it...... I could smell the perspiration in the air as the bustling crowds of people frenzied pass me, sticky and sweaty bodies took their turns pressing against me. It felt like I was in a maze where the only things visible were bobbing heads and scuttling feet of different shapes and sizes below me. I finally escaped the jungle as I stepped out of the train station. I decided to take a walk down to my favourite coffeehouse just two streets away. After trudging in the hot sun for what seemed like an hour, I stepped ...show more content... He never really had enough time for her anymore, unlike the past where he would always be home after 8pm, accompanying her in the night. That guy was a colleague of hers named Sean that she met while working part–time. Sean was loving, sweet, compassionate and was in every way like her husband, whom she missed to spend time with very much. That was how the affair started between them. Uncle Pete also explained to me why he was not angry because asked himself several times what could the reason be to lead Aunt Mable into having an extramarital affair, and he realized that this was partially his fault, if he had not neglected Aunt Mable of the love, care and concern she needed, she would not have done it. Aunt Mable also felt awful that she allowed herself to go to that extent of hurting Uncle Pete's feelings and that he still forgave her for what she had committed. After listening to it, I could feel the strong love they still had for each other and that it was a stupid mistake of Aunt Mable's, she even thanked me for telling her husband, because if not for me telling the truth, things would have became worse. After the incident, I felt like a huge boulder had been lifted off my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
