The Best Teachers
The quality's a teacher present are very important and can play a part in their teaching effectiveness. Sometimes these qualities are negative, which
limits the effectiveness of the teaching processes and sometimes they are positive and can greatly help both the student and teacher. The best teachers
are the ones who present a comfortable and entertaining atmosphere, have complete control over the class, and lead to the student to an answer as they
give thorough explanations of the steps to any given problem. The teacher presenting a comfortable and entertaining atmosphere is essential to the
process of learning. Students work best when they are in a comfortable setting as they can concentrate on their work and not have to worry about an
overly strict teacher or some other form of discomfort. An entertaining class can do many positive things for the student such as contribute to a
comfortable setting and allow the student to become...show more content...
Students often find difficulty giving his or her attention to the teacher as others are talking or being disruptive. This instance can be avoided if the
teacher will assert his self or herself and quieten the disruptive students. For example, I was in a class and the teacher was relating our studies to
various movies and as we were watching one of the movies three students were making immature comments and the teacher never once told them to
be quiet. Thus, I became very distracted and annoyed leading to a lapse in my attention causing me not to retain important details from the movie. In
contrast, I have found it much easier to retain information or focus on the assigned work in a controlled classroom such as Mrs. Flemings'. Leading a
student to an answer or understanding of the given work is just as vital as creating a controlled

An Effective, Professional Teacher Essay
Introduction The statement 'Teaching – reflections, questions, decisions' sums up what it means to be an effective teacher. Teachers are constantly
making decisions about professionalism and ethics, teaching strategies, classroom management, and how to keep their students motivated. These
decisions can have a major impact on student learning and how effective they are as teachers. Questioning is an essential–and one of the most
important–instructional skills that a teacher can possess. Teachers need to be able to ask the appropriate types and levels of questions, such as the
high and low order questions based on Bloom's taxonomy, as well as being skilled in responding to students answers. Teachers also need to be
constantly evaluating and...show more content...
It is essential to encompass all of these behaviours and standards to succeed in being an effective teacher, as they are in an authoritative position and
therefore need to lead by example. Teacher professionalism is also dependant on professional judgement, which involves making decisions on what is
the right thing to do in certain situations, and ethical behaviour. The code of ethics is based on respect, caring, integrity, diligence and open
communication (Groundwater–Smith, Ewing & Le Cornu, 2007, p. 332). Sometimes teachers can come across 'ethical dilemmas' which are complex
problems that have more than one solution, and in turn, each solution has different advantages and disadvantages, therefore having no clear correct
answer (Groundwater–Smith et al., 2007, p. 336). For example, "You observe another teacher publicly humiliate a child who is known to have
previously bullied other students. What do you do? Do you say anything?" Ethical dilemmas require teachers to explore all situations and outcomes, and
make a decision on what is right and just. Professionalism and ethics together, as relevant to teachers, demands all of these appropriate behaviours and
responses in any circumstance (Whitton et al., 2010, p. 123). Constructivism Teaching techniques and strategies, such as proactive teaching,
collaborative learning and constructivism, can also affect the quality of

Essay on My Ideal Teacher
My Ideal Teacher
When I think about teachers that I have had in the past, several different ones come to my mind. Each of these educators stands out in my mind for a
variety of diverse reasons. Whether it is their sense of humor, their tactfulness, their love of the subject matter, their fanatical and sporadic behavior, or
their yearning to be childish themselves, I can still remember at least one quality of every teacher I have ever encountered. Every one of these teachers
conveyed subject material to their students just as they were educated and employed to do. However, I trust that every professional in the world has an
abundance of opportunity for improvement; teachers could discover and improve themselves merely by having...show more content...
I had a teacher in high school that began each class with a funny story or a random fact. We, as students, looked forward to attending to his classes
just to know what he had brought for us that day. He was a stern teacher, but everyone appreciated him because he showed an interest in us enjoying his
classes.
An additional way that educators can make the class stimulating while maintaining student interest is to include voice fluctuations and floor coverage
in their lectures. We have all experienced those teachers who never change their voice or their position on the floor during the course of an hour. These
monotone voices and stand still positions are almost hypnotizing; students get sluggish and drop curiosity fast. My ideal teacher would use their voice
to expand and carry on the students' attention for the whole hour.
Using voice to emphasize an important point or even an incident that is being discussed can be very valuable in creating excitement for the students.
When a teacher moves about the room, one will notice that the students will focus on the teacher and their eyes will follow. Simply moving their eyes
to follow the teacher's pattern of movements can be effective in keeping the student's attention. A teacher could even reenact or act out using body
actions for various topics. This would make the

Reflective Essay: A Good Teacher...
Standard 1: Development, learning, and motivation–
A teacher has his or her own style or way of motivating their students. Motivation plays an important part in a student's success of learning and
development. There are times when teachers spend more time with their students than most parents do, thus, a teacher is fundamental in shaping their
students success. If parents or teachers are poor leaders our children are the ones who are at a disadvantage. When they shine as leaders our children
blossom and the world is wide open to them. As a future teacher it is of utmost importance that I make sure to find the best style of teaching for the
students I will be teaching in order for them to receive the...show more content...
Not every child learns the same way, nor are they interested in the same things. In my fieldwork I have noticed that it is becoming more difficult to
keep the attention of twenty to twenty–five children under the age of ten. Most of the students in the class were not really that interested in
researching or reading. When it came time to learn a new activity they would sigh and state that they did not want to do any of the work. However, if
a conversation was sparked about a new video game they were all excited to converse about it. A good teacher must learn to incorporate everyone's
beliefs into the daily curriculum. All students must be aware of the differences in the world and around them. Teachers have a lot of responsibility and
need to make sure that they make learning a positive experience for all. By being sensitive to the needs of everyone and presenting different ways of
doing things, it can be possible for everyone to have an equal opportunity to do their best.
Standard 3: Instruction– Differentiated instruction is very effective in the classroom. Teachers should be well aware of how greatly students may vary
in readiness, interest, and modes of learning. Teachers need to work to adjust the classroom to the needs of subgroups of students. Cooperative learning
or student– centered instruction is not a new concept. Like direct instruction it has been used as

Being a Teacher Essay
Being a Teacher
Is your life important to you? That is a statement anyone would replay, "yes" to. As surprising as it may seem, though, an important, successful life
would not even be, without one essential element: teachers.
Teachers, educators, instructors, mentors, or baby–sitters, whatever they may be classified as, they are necessary for many reasons. They are
foundation or our American society, they are a source of security, and possibly the parents some never had.
They are the foundation of our American society, meaning they educate everyone. Attending school, whether it is public, private, or home taught is
mandatory in America at a certain age. Therefore, all the basics of life...show more content...
Those are just a few illustrations of the obligations teachers have. These should not be considered obligations, but honors. Who would not want to be
such an influential role model in others' lives?
As I begin my teaching career and the years prior to it, many ideas and decisions will take place. Being that I plan to teach elementary school and
deal with small children, I plan to be excessive on classroom accessories. Children have a limited attention span and a dull, plain room would not be
appealing to them. The adjustment of leaving "mommy" will be hard enough for them anyway. I hope to make the environment comforting and
welcoming for them. Bright colored bulletin boards and posters with needed information on them. I would like my students seated around the room in
a circle. From experience, I've found that children feel more at ease and apt to speak up when seated this way.
I believe the teacher should be authoritative, especially in the lower grades. The students need to know who is in charge and feel that there is
someone of authority to look up to. Still yet, I want the children to feel a sense of authority, to make decisions and play a leadership role. Possibly, let
one child be "leader of the day" each day; for example, lead the lines or pass out the papers.
Motivation and discipline, I view as the primary topics of educating a classroom. Children have to be motivated, it is human

What makes a good teacher? Essay
In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion
and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a
bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not
so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage
them. Let them know that the teacher...show more content...
It would be better if the teacher is able to find common topics to chat with the students. This would let the students feel like they can relate better to the

"You must not give up. I want to let you know that even if you're facing so many problems, and feel like there's no one to talk to, I'll be here for you.
Everyone else might want to be the sun that lights up your life, but I rather be the moon that guides you through your darkest hours. Let's strive hard
and work toward our goal together!" This was what my high school teacher told me 10 years ago and I have remembered it until now, and will
remember it for the next 10 years and so on.
I was once a problematic kid who mixed with bad company and flunk tests. I never thought about what I was going to do the next day, what more
when I grew up. Of course when I was younger, I had lots of dreams. I wanted to set up my own company, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be
able to drive an airplane and the list went on. But as the years went by, they became less insignificant to me and soon, I forgot every single one of
those dreams and goals. I got to a new school and knew friends who smoke and took drugs. My grades started dropping from "A" to fails. But I did
not care. I could not be bothered by then. I went partying every night and got home drunk. What was the point of studying? My parents are

My Most Memorable Teachers Essay
My Most Memorable Teachers For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of
others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While
I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of
teacher.
The teacher that stands out most in my head is my eleventh grade English teacher. She had a liberal arts background, and enjoyed the classic American
writers; Hemingway, Steinbeck, what have you. She was in the class of teachers who was more impressed by actions and honesty...show more content...
Her class of teachers take their jobs very seriously, and do not tolerate students who skip or disrupt their classes. These teachers are fun, because once
you get them off on some irrelevant tangent, they will keep themselves going on it for entire class segments, trying to get out years of thought and
consideration in just a short period of time. This is how I got to know my psychology teacher, because I was the one who kept her talking, so that the
class could avoid taking the quiz that none of us had studied for. Teachers like her have the innate gift to educate and entertain, with their
comprehensive lessons and subtle quirks.
Finally, I come to my high school horticulture teacher, whom I studied under for so many years that by the time I was a senior, we talked to each
other on a first name basis. He belonged to a small class of teachers who are personally important to every young adult. This class of teacher is the
buddy, the friend. The teacher with whom you can talk about anything, be it the trouble you have been having with your girlfriend, the high–potency
marijuana that you smoked over the weekend, or just the dirty jokes you heard the day before. These are the teachers with whom you simply share
interests, and thus, get along really well. Having a teacher like this is almost like having a counselor, someone older and wiser than yourself

Parents Are The Best Teacher Essay
Academic Writing Parents are the best teacher
No one can deny that parents are the best and first teachers. They were the fire who triggered our learning skills; as they taught us how to walk,
how to talk and later in our lives; they also have a great role in the real world's teaching life experiences. Early in life, parents are the only people
known for their child, surrounding him or her with care and love, and of course giving him or her too much time in order to teach them the early skills.
Such as, talking, waiving, eating, walking and education. Education is very important thing in every person's life, education makes you became an adult

Need to remember, scolding is one of the worst way to educate child. At the time of scolding children, we are not educating them, but to vent our
frustration because we can not solve the problem what children did. What should we do as parents? All you need to do is talk "firm" not to speak
"loud". Talk firm in a flat tone, with serious and stared into the face and eyes. Firmly speak is to speak at the time of the rational mind, while talking
loudly when our minds are controlled by emotions.
Always obey the demand of the children. Like a king, the more the demands increasingly strange and powerful, if it has become a habit will be
difficult to be accommodated. Children are educated in this way would become a super selfish child, do not know tolerance, and can not socialize.
What should we do as parents? No matter how great our love to children, never impose this kind of parenting it is not good. Affection does not
always have to obey his will. If we really love him or her then we have to teach him or her about the value of good and bad, right and wrong, who
should and who should not be. If not, our affection, would make it a selfish child. This is in layman's language is often called spoiled

My Experience Of A Teacher
For most of my time in school, I've had many teachers that who hated me or didn't bother to learn my name, but you were the teachers who cared
enough to push me. You saw great things in me even when I didn't see them myself. And most importantly, you were the teachers who pushed me
to do more, to get me to do more things than just the minimum amount needed to get by. For that, I will forever be grateful, because if it wasn't for
you, I would be in a regular English 11 class and not at the end of Composition 1. If it wasn't for the fact that you pushed me into harder classes, I
would have never gotten to have this experience. Also if I would have stayed in a regular class, I would have never been able to grow as a writer
or as a student. I decided to write to you today to show you all how I have taken the things you have said to me and continued to use them and push
myself to do better and harder things, sometimes even years after I had you as a teacher. When I started my first week of Composition 1, I thought I
would have a difficult time writing papers and getting good grades. I didn't believe in myself because when I would write a paper for a class, I would get
a high B at best, and those teachers weren't grading all that hard, but now I was in a class that graded hard and had most of my grade based off of the
papers I wrote. However, I still took this class because I wanted to get better at writing. Even though I didn't believe in myself and my ability to write
papers, I

My Most Memorable Teacher
Who are the most memorable teachers? The dedicated teachers who provide a safe environment, inspire confidence, and make learning enjoyable.
Sometimes the littlest thing may make the biggest impact. Three of my teachers made a lasting impression on me, but it was my daughter's teacher
who sparked my decision to enter the field of education. I believe that effective teachers influence who students become in adulthood. An effective
teacher must be patient, compassionate, and caring. Mrs. Rock, my first–grade teacher had all those qualities. As a young girl growing up with a
mother who didn't speak English well, I would mispronounce words frequently. She would be very patient and took the time to work with me
individually. She never made me feel uncomfortable or deficient. When classmates would tease, she would turn it into a teachable moment for
everyone. We all learned about compassion that year. I remember that Halloween we had a parade and everyone wore costumes. However, I had
forgotten my mask and was devastated, and on the verge of tears when she called me over to her desk. She comforted me with her warm smile. She
had a solution. She painted my face with the makeup from her purse. Mrs. Rock took care I her students and was always prepared. Her classroom
provided structure and stability for me. It was a safe environment that cultivated learning. I hope to provide my students with such an environment when
I am a teacher. In addition, an effective teacher inspires students to preform to the best of their abilities, value themselves, and become productive
citizens of their communities. Ms. Shelly, my second–grade teacher did all those things. She was Japanese American and wore it proudly. She was very
confident and I aspired to be just like her. Instead of hiding her differences she presented them, and encouraged everyone to do the same. We were Ms.
Shelly's All–stars and we had a paper. Everyone had a job to do. There were writers, illustrators, and reporters. We all had to do our best and work
together as a team. Our class was our community. We learned to be responsible for ourselves and our community. Ms. Shelly believed in me and that
sparked a belief in myself. She

help them become successful adults. A teacher can change the outlook of a student and change the eventual outcome of the country. This career is

include: hazards, travel, and location. Teachers can work in classrooms, science labs, computer labs, or machine shops. These environments usually
lack necessities for educating students. Some schools fund field trips once or twice a year and the teacher gets to go along to supervise the students on
this trip("High School Teacher"). One hazards of this job is the stress the teacher must endure to complete their job("High School Teachers"). A teacher
must also spend a lot of their own time completing schooling activities to make a class as prepared as possible. Teachers may have to deal with unruly

Effective Teaching
Introduction
Teaching is a profession that is considered to be a rewarding challenging and complex role. An effective teacher does not simply teach knowledge their
students and instead aims to arm students with the knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes that will prepare students for life–long learning. The
constructivist theories developed by Piaget and Vygotsky have impacted on the way that teachers teach and this has changed the approach of teaching
to place a greater importance on the teacher instead to act as a facilitator of learning in an open, constructivist environment and providing students with
the tools to challenge themselves to develop both academically and personally. The education of students within classrooms...show more content...

Communication
Marsh (2010) states that non–verbal communication has a greater impact on a student's learning than that of verbal communication, and effective
teachers are those who utilise the non–verbal cues to enhance and reiterate their verbal communication. Verbal communication can be separated into
areas of explanation, asking questions and listening (Marsh, 2010) and effective teachers are those who create an environment in which all students
can express their views and ask questions in an open and supportive environment. Explanations of information need to be presented to the class in a
confident manner using clear, logical steps that are explained appropriately by using language that is understood. The use of questioning is essential to
all parties within the classroom and is not only used as an assessment tool by the teacher and as a clarification from the student but as means of
managing the classroom effectively. Marsh states that questioning can be grouped as psycho–social or pedagogical. Psycho–social refers to the
relationship between students and the teacher and focuses

But with a little ingenuity and a great deal of training, change has become easier for me as a reading teacher. Not only do professional activities lend
themselves to opportunities to learn new ideas, they are also ways that we professionals can share our experiences–our victories and our defeats–with
others, creating a bond and a network from which we all can gain support and advice when we need it. Since my time of training for the reading
competencies, I have served on the school literacy team. In addition to setting goals and working to achieve those for our school as a whole, I
have tried to mentor some of the younger teachers who did not teach reading the first year it was offered at our school. I have tried to be an
inspiration, a cheerleader, and encourager. I have offered to help with their classes, to help with lessons, to offer supplies, or whatever other things I
could do to serve as a sort of "cheerleader for reading" at my school. As a result, we now have several teachers who are also implementing those
important reading strategies, and our school is indeed seeing the results from the test data. We're now a community of learners, rather than individual
teachers doing our "own things." So, is professional development important? Most assuredly! Not only have I have learned new methods and strategies
and how to improve them, but I have also shared them with my peers.

There has always been a debate on what kind of teaching styles work best, what the best curriculum to teach is, or how to effectively organize your
classroom. Yet, nobody has discovered what the most effective teaching methods are. As future teachers, we must constantly be making decisions that
will shape us into the teacher we would like to become. Over the course of the next four years, and even once we become teachers with classrooms of
our own, we will be exposed to many different teaching methods and strategies. There is no one right or wrong way to teach, and it is up to us to
decide how we would like to structure our classroom. While there are many teaching styles, it seems that there is predominantly two types of teachers
according to John Dewey: those that are reflective, and those that are not. Unreflective teachers tend to accept the routines that are given to them by the
school they are working for. They spend their days working to solve problems who have been created by others for them. Reflective teachers on the
other hand, are constantly evaluating their beliefs, teaching methods and behaviors and modifying those things so that it works with the situation they
are in. Dewey believe that in order to be a reflective teacher, you must have three different components to your attitude: open–mindedness,
responsibility, and wholeheartedness. In being open–minded, you must be willing to listen to both sides of the argument and willing to use an

Mrs. Yaghi introduced herself to the class on the first day. She proceeded to explain her ethnic background which included middle eastern roots,
however under the United States census she would be classified as white. Mrs. Yaghi was my sociology teacher at the end of every day of my senior

view things. All throughout high school I would say Mrs. Yaghi had the best teacher qualities. She was young, energetic, and passionate about the
subject she taught, which to me is crucial when actually enjoying a class.
Students really got to know Mrs. Yaghi when others misbehaved. Very few would have the audacity to interrupt her lessons, talk back, and

Best Teacher Research Paper

  • 1. Best Teacher Research Paper The Best Teachers The quality's a teacher present are very important and can play a part in their teaching effectiveness. Sometimes these qualities are negative, which limits the effectiveness of the teaching processes and sometimes they are positive and can greatly help both the student and teacher. The best teachers are the ones who present a comfortable and entertaining atmosphere, have complete control over the class, and lead to the student to an answer as they give thorough explanations of the steps to any given problem. The teacher presenting a comfortable and entertaining atmosphere is essential to the process of learning. Students work best when they are in a comfortable setting as they can concentrate on their work and not have to worry about an overly strict teacher or some other form of discomfort. An entertaining class can do many positive things for the student such as contribute to a comfortable setting and allow the student to become...show more content... Students often find difficulty giving his or her attention to the teacher as others are talking or being disruptive. This instance can be avoided if the teacher will assert his self or herself and quieten the disruptive students. For example, I was in a class and the teacher was relating our studies to various movies and as we were watching one of the movies three students were making immature comments and the teacher never once told them to be quiet. Thus, I became very distracted and annoyed leading to a lapse in my attention causing me not to retain important details from the movie. In contrast, I have found it much easier to retain information or focus on the assigned work in a controlled classroom such as Mrs. Flemings'. Leading a student to an answer or understanding of the given work is just as vital as creating a controlled Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. An Effective, Professional Teacher Essay Introduction The statement 'Teaching – reflections, questions, decisions' sums up what it means to be an effective teacher. Teachers are constantly making decisions about professionalism and ethics, teaching strategies, classroom management, and how to keep their students motivated. These decisions can have a major impact on student learning and how effective they are as teachers. Questioning is an essential–and one of the most important–instructional skills that a teacher can possess. Teachers need to be able to ask the appropriate types and levels of questions, such as the high and low order questions based on Bloom's taxonomy, as well as being skilled in responding to students answers. Teachers also need to be constantly evaluating and...show more content... It is essential to encompass all of these behaviours and standards to succeed in being an effective teacher, as they are in an authoritative position and therefore need to lead by example. Teacher professionalism is also dependant on professional judgement, which involves making decisions on what is the right thing to do in certain situations, and ethical behaviour. The code of ethics is based on respect, caring, integrity, diligence and open communication (Groundwater–Smith, Ewing & Le Cornu, 2007, p. 332). Sometimes teachers can come across 'ethical dilemmas' which are complex problems that have more than one solution, and in turn, each solution has different advantages and disadvantages, therefore having no clear correct answer (Groundwater–Smith et al., 2007, p. 336). For example, "You observe another teacher publicly humiliate a child who is known to have previously bullied other students. What do you do? Do you say anything?" Ethical dilemmas require teachers to explore all situations and outcomes, and make a decision on what is right and just. Professionalism and ethics together, as relevant to teachers, demands all of these appropriate behaviours and responses in any circumstance (Whitton et al., 2010, p. 123). Constructivism Teaching techniques and strategies, such as proactive teaching, collaborative learning and constructivism, can also affect the quality of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay on My Ideal Teacher My Ideal Teacher When I think about teachers that I have had in the past, several different ones come to my mind. Each of these educators stands out in my mind for a variety of diverse reasons. Whether it is their sense of humor, their tactfulness, their love of the subject matter, their fanatical and sporadic behavior, or their yearning to be childish themselves, I can still remember at least one quality of every teacher I have ever encountered. Every one of these teachers conveyed subject material to their students just as they were educated and employed to do. However, I trust that every professional in the world has an abundance of opportunity for improvement; teachers could discover and improve themselves merely by having...show more content... I had a teacher in high school that began each class with a funny story or a random fact. We, as students, looked forward to attending to his classes just to know what he had brought for us that day. He was a stern teacher, but everyone appreciated him because he showed an interest in us enjoying his classes. An additional way that educators can make the class stimulating while maintaining student interest is to include voice fluctuations and floor coverage in their lectures. We have all experienced those teachers who never change their voice or their position on the floor during the course of an hour. These monotone voices and stand still positions are almost hypnotizing; students get sluggish and drop curiosity fast. My ideal teacher would use their voice to expand and carry on the students' attention for the whole hour. Using voice to emphasize an important point or even an incident that is being discussed can be very valuable in creating excitement for the students. When a teacher moves about the room, one will notice that the students will focus on the teacher and their eyes will follow. Simply moving their eyes to follow the teacher's pattern of movements can be effective in keeping the student's attention. A teacher could even reenact or act out using body actions for various topics. This would make the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Reflective Essay on a Good Teacher... Reflective Essay: A Good Teacher... Standard 1: Development, learning, and motivation– A teacher has his or her own style or way of motivating their students. Motivation plays an important part in a student's success of learning and development. There are times when teachers spend more time with their students than most parents do, thus, a teacher is fundamental in shaping their students success. If parents or teachers are poor leaders our children are the ones who are at a disadvantage. When they shine as leaders our children blossom and the world is wide open to them. As a future teacher it is of utmost importance that I make sure to find the best style of teaching for the students I will be teaching in order for them to receive the...show more content... Not every child learns the same way, nor are they interested in the same things. In my fieldwork I have noticed that it is becoming more difficult to keep the attention of twenty to twenty–five children under the age of ten. Most of the students in the class were not really that interested in researching or reading. When it came time to learn a new activity they would sigh and state that they did not want to do any of the work. However, if a conversation was sparked about a new video game they were all excited to converse about it. A good teacher must learn to incorporate everyone's beliefs into the daily curriculum. All students must be aware of the differences in the world and around them. Teachers have a lot of responsibility and need to make sure that they make learning a positive experience for all. By being sensitive to the needs of everyone and presenting different ways of doing things, it can be possible for everyone to have an equal opportunity to do their best. Standard 3: Instruction– Differentiated instruction is very effective in the classroom. Teachers should be well aware of how greatly students may vary in readiness, interest, and modes of learning. Teachers need to work to adjust the classroom to the needs of subgroups of students. Cooperative learning or student– centered instruction is not a new concept. Like direct instruction it has been used as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Being a Teacher Essay Being a Teacher Is your life important to you? That is a statement anyone would replay, "yes" to. As surprising as it may seem, though, an important, successful life would not even be, without one essential element: teachers. Teachers, educators, instructors, mentors, or baby–sitters, whatever they may be classified as, they are necessary for many reasons. They are foundation or our American society, they are a source of security, and possibly the parents some never had. They are the foundation of our American society, meaning they educate everyone. Attending school, whether it is public, private, or home taught is mandatory in America at a certain age. Therefore, all the basics of life...show more content... Those are just a few illustrations of the obligations teachers have. These should not be considered obligations, but honors. Who would not want to be such an influential role model in others' lives? As I begin my teaching career and the years prior to it, many ideas and decisions will take place. Being that I plan to teach elementary school and deal with small children, I plan to be excessive on classroom accessories. Children have a limited attention span and a dull, plain room would not be appealing to them. The adjustment of leaving "mommy" will be hard enough for them anyway. I hope to make the environment comforting and welcoming for them. Bright colored bulletin boards and posters with needed information on them. I would like my students seated around the room in a circle. From experience, I've found that children feel more at ease and apt to speak up when seated this way. I believe the teacher should be authoritative, especially in the lower grades. The students need to know who is in charge and feel that there is someone of authority to look up to. Still yet, I want the children to feel a sense of authority, to make decisions and play a leadership role. Possibly, let one child be "leader of the day" each day; for example, lead the lines or pass out the papers. Motivation and discipline, I view as the primary topics of educating a classroom. Children have to be motivated, it is human

  • 7. What makes a good teacher? Essay In my opinion, a good teacher should be one who puts her heart into teaching. This is because only by doing so will the students feel their passion and hard work. When a teacher strives hard for the students, students will put in their effort as well. If a teacher dislikes her job, goes to classes in a bad mood, her teaching would also be affected and students would not be able to enjoy lessons as well. Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher...show more content... It would be better if the teacher is able to find common topics to chat with the students. This would let the students feel like they can relate better to the teacher. "You must not give up. I want to let you know that even if you're facing so many problems, and feel like there's no one to talk to, I'll be here for you. Everyone else might want to be the sun that lights up your life, but I rather be the moon that guides you through your darkest hours. Let's strive hard and work toward our goal together!" This was what my high school teacher told me 10 years ago and I have remembered it until now, and will remember it for the next 10 years and so on. I was once a problematic kid who mixed with bad company and flunk tests. I never thought about what I was going to do the next day, what more when I grew up. Of course when I was younger, I had lots of dreams. I wanted to set up my own company, I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be able to drive an airplane and the list went on. But as the years went by, they became less insignificant to me and soon, I forgot every single one of those dreams and goals. I got to a new school and knew friends who smoke and took drugs. My grades started dropping from "A" to fails. But I did not care. I could not be bothered by then. I went partying every night and got home drunk. What was the point of studying? My parents are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. My Most Memorable Teachers Essay My Most Memorable Teachers For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of teacher. The teacher that stands out most in my head is my eleventh grade English teacher. She had a liberal arts background, and enjoyed the classic American writers; Hemingway, Steinbeck, what have you. She was in the class of teachers who was more impressed by actions and honesty...show more content... Her class of teachers take their jobs very seriously, and do not tolerate students who skip or disrupt their classes. These teachers are fun, because once you get them off on some irrelevant tangent, they will keep themselves going on it for entire class segments, trying to get out years of thought and consideration in just a short period of time. This is how I got to know my psychology teacher, because I was the one who kept her talking, so that the class could avoid taking the quiz that none of us had studied for. Teachers like her have the innate gift to educate and entertain, with their comprehensive lessons and subtle quirks. Finally, I come to my high school horticulture teacher, whom I studied under for so many years that by the time I was a senior, we talked to each other on a first name basis. He belonged to a small class of teachers who are personally important to every young adult. This class of teacher is the buddy, the friend. The teacher with whom you can talk about anything, be it the trouble you have been having with your girlfriend, the high–potency marijuana that you smoked over the weekend, or just the dirty jokes you heard the day before. These are the teachers with whom you simply share interests, and thus, get along really well. Having a teacher like this is almost like having a counselor, someone older and wiser than yourself Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Reflective Essay About The Best Teacher Sometimes in your life, there will have something special happening to you, and it will definitely change your way of thinking, your old method you used to deal with it. And it do happen to me too. It was on July 3rd 2015, I was strongly inspired by THE one of the most greatest teacher I've ever known and he made me change day by day with a lot of hard work, attempts and perseverance. Since when I was a little girl, I have a special interest with learning a new language, such as English. I always tried my best to keep up best grades in the class, have a flying colors in every English lesson. My teacher always praised me as a good pupil and took me as a mirror for other students to look at. And it was really really made me proud of myself. My learning of English mainly focused on grammar rules, structures of English sentence...show more content... I couldn't sleep. I disappointed about myself and tears started falling, I wept uncontrollably. Undoubtedly, this night, I luckily ran into a best method of learning English from AJ Hoge, with such a promising title: "Speak English fluently in 6 months". The title intrigued me so much that on whole that night, I found myself staying up on the bed reading, finding out how it works. I was completely convinced by his power speech, the reason he gave and his enthusiastic attitude. He is the creator of the Effortless English System and also the Director of the company. In short, he tried to present how wrong the way almost people learning English are now, advised me to change the old method into a new one learning like a kid and after that he guided me how I can learn and what I should do. I spent several hours watching his videos, gradually felt more confident and ready for doing it. Below every single video, I read these comments and there were a lot of compliments for him and everybody showed how it worked for them. I was absolutely inspired to start my target and felt my fully strong Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Parents Are The Best Teacher Essay Academic Writing Parents are the best teacher No one can deny that parents are the best and first teachers. They were the fire who triggered our learning skills; as they taught us how to walk, how to talk and later in our lives; they also have a great role in the real world's teaching life experiences. Early in life, parents are the only people known for their child, surrounding him or her with care and love, and of course giving him or her too much time in order to teach them the early skills. Such as, talking, waiving, eating, walking and education. Education is very important thing in every person's life, education makes you became an adult and educated. Parents are indeed the best teacher of their children. Why? Because parents are the...show more content... Need to remember, scolding is one of the worst way to educate child. At the time of scolding children, we are not educating them, but to vent our frustration because we can not solve the problem what children did. What should we do as parents? All you need to do is talk "firm" not to speak "loud". Talk firm in a flat tone, with serious and stared into the face and eyes. Firmly speak is to speak at the time of the rational mind, while talking loudly when our minds are controlled by emotions. Always obey the demand of the children. Like a king, the more the demands increasingly strange and powerful, if it has become a habit will be difficult to be accommodated. Children are educated in this way would become a super selfish child, do not know tolerance, and can not socialize. What should we do as parents? No matter how great our love to children, never impose this kind of parenting it is not good. Affection does not always have to obey his will. If we really love him or her then we have to teach him or her about the value of good and bad, right and wrong, who should and who should not be. If not, our affection, would make it a selfish child. This is in layman's language is often called spoiled Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Greatest Teacher : My Best Teacher In My Life He was always working on a hangover, or even drunk. Joe is a pro Chef and professional, complete total wreck. A legend of the back–of–the–house He was one of the best Chefs I had ever dished washed with. Once ten o'clock hit. We called it the "power hour." This was the last hour the restaurant was open. People rushed in at the last minute. All restaurant workers loathe the people who come at the last minute. We are in a hurry to get off and get home. We have lives outside of cooking people' s food, what they are just going to throw away anyways. Eleven o'clock had hit. We finished all the tickets that came through, and we were all ready to go home, but usually after work we sat around smoked pot and got drunk. The people in their suits and dresses would look by in total disgust. A group of rag–tag kitchen workers drowning away their miseries, day after day, night after night. It was like we were giving back the money the boss paid us. It is really costly to be poor and a kitchen worker. It seems like all of them are i smokers and a drinkers. This cycle was hell to endure. I put my self through misery because I did not have any self–discipline. I know now that if I want to maintain happiness. I must accept my suffering as my greatest teacher. Caving into my temptations put my body and soul through hell. This was meant to be. Alcohol and cigarettes are meant to hold back working people from achieving their dreams and making them into a reality. It prevents working people Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Experience Of A Teacher For most of my time in school, I've had many teachers that who hated me or didn't bother to learn my name, but you were the teachers who cared enough to push me. You saw great things in me even when I didn't see them myself. And most importantly, you were the teachers who pushed me to do more, to get me to do more things than just the minimum amount needed to get by. For that, I will forever be grateful, because if it wasn't for you, I would be in a regular English 11 class and not at the end of Composition 1. If it wasn't for the fact that you pushed me into harder classes, I would have never gotten to have this experience. Also if I would have stayed in a regular class, I would have never been able to grow as a writer or as a student. I decided to write to you today to show you all how I have taken the things you have said to me and continued to use them and push myself to do better and harder things, sometimes even years after I had you as a teacher. When I started my first week of Composition 1, I thought I would have a difficult time writing papers and getting good grades. I didn't believe in myself because when I would write a paper for a class, I would get a high B at best, and those teachers weren't grading all that hard, but now I was in a class that graded hard and had most of my grade based off of the papers I wrote. However, I still took this class because I wanted to get better at writing. Even though I didn't believe in myself and my ability to write papers, I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My Most Memorable Teacher Who are the most memorable teachers? The dedicated teachers who provide a safe environment, inspire confidence, and make learning enjoyable. Sometimes the littlest thing may make the biggest impact. Three of my teachers made a lasting impression on me, but it was my daughter's teacher who sparked my decision to enter the field of education. I believe that effective teachers influence who students become in adulthood. An effective teacher must be patient, compassionate, and caring. Mrs. Rock, my first–grade teacher had all those qualities. As a young girl growing up with a mother who didn't speak English well, I would mispronounce words frequently. She would be very patient and took the time to work with me individually. She never made me feel uncomfortable or deficient. When classmates would tease, she would turn it into a teachable moment for everyone. We all learned about compassion that year. I remember that Halloween we had a parade and everyone wore costumes. However, I had forgotten my mask and was devastated, and on the verge of tears when she called me over to her desk. She comforted me with her warm smile. She had a solution. She painted my face with the makeup from her purse. Mrs. Rock took care I her students and was always prepared. Her classroom provided structure and stability for me. It was a safe environment that cultivated learning. I hope to provide my students with such an environment when I am a teacher. In addition, an effective teacher inspires students to preform to the best of their abilities, value themselves, and become productive citizens of their communities. Ms. Shelly, my second–grade teacher did all those things. She was Japanese American and wore it proudly. She was very confident and I aspired to be just like her. Instead of hiding her differences she presented them, and encouraged everyone to do the same. We were Ms. Shelly's All–stars and we had a paper. Everyone had a job to do. There were writers, illustrators, and reporters. We all had to do our best and work together as a team. Our class was our community. We learned to be responsible for ourselves and our community. Ms. Shelly believed in me and that sparked a belief in myself. She Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. Effective Teaching Introduction Teaching is a profession that is considered to be a rewarding challenging and complex role. An effective teacher does not simply teach knowledge their students and instead aims to arm students with the knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes that will prepare students for life–long learning. The constructivist theories developed by Piaget and Vygotsky have impacted on the way that teachers teach and this has changed the approach of teaching to place a greater importance on the teacher instead to act as a facilitator of learning in an open, constructivist environment and providing students with the tools to challenge themselves to develop both academically and personally. This behaviour and personal attributes display the ethical behaviour and professional of the teacher and contribute to the effectiveness of a teacher (Davies, 2008). Communication Marsh (2010) states that non–verbal communication has a greater impact on a student's learning than that of verbal communication, and effective teachers are those who utilise the non–verbal cues to enhance and reiterate their verbal communication. Verbal communication can be separated into areas of explanation, asking questions and listening (Marsh, 2010) and effective teachers are those who create an environment in which all students can express their views and ask questions in an open and supportive environment. Explanations of information need to be presented to the class in a confident manner using clear, logical steps that are explained appropriately by using language that is understood. The use of questioning is essential to all parties within the classroom and is not only used as an assessment tool by the teacher and as a clarification from the student but as means of managing the classroom effectively. Marsh states that questioning can be grouped as psycho–social or pedagogical. Psycho–social refers to the relationship between students and the teacher and focuses Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Descriptive Essay About My Teacher My creator. My abettor. My sidekick. My teacher. My defender. My superstar. These are all the things that my sire wholeheartedly is. From keeping me safe to play childish games, he is always there to guide me. Although his overloaded job keeps him at station for an eternity, he quickly maneuvers through the overwhelming pile of work, and somehow still finds time to help me study for a test, help me finish my homework, and play games with me. When a monstrous test is charging at me with all of its might, he uses his brilliant mind to swiftly teach me how to defeat the test with a triumphant score. Then comes the period of activity, the hardest part of his day, the part where he almost always quits and leaves: the workout. With a determination to become physically fit, he bolts up the rigid stairs, charging into his closet to get dressed into his navy baggy sweatpants and his neon yellow t–shirt; then races down to the basement like it's the end of the world. The Xbox sits idle while the fitness game eagerly waits to be played. He fires up the Xbox and starts on his 1–hour journey to absolutely destroy the computer in tennis. Following his crushing victory over the weak computer in tennis, I wandered to the basement in hopes of escaping my dreadful homework, only to be absolutely flabbergasted by the number of experience points he has gained on the game. Then comes the part where my ponderous dad sluggishly lumbers up the stern stairs. Suddenly his stomach rumbles and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. I believe that teaching is the most important profession in the world. How else can we continue to develop in such a technical world, or in any other way, for that matter? Without the transfer of knowledge to young minds, we will stagnate and wither as a world. Teaching is hope for better, more successful futures. Learning is hope for becoming better individuals, for gaining intelligence, and for implementing practical experiences in our future. Since we always tell our children that they should plan for their futures and work to realize those goals, the teaching profession should "practice what it preaches" by helping young people to reach those goals. Teaching reading during the past five years has been rewarding beyond my...show more content... But with a little ingenuity and a great deal of training, change has become easier for me as a reading teacher. Not only do professional activities lend themselves to opportunities to learn new ideas, they are also ways that we professionals can share our experiences–our victories and our defeats–with others, creating a bond and a network from which we all can gain support and advice when we need it. Since my time of training for the reading competencies, I have served on the school literacy team. In addition to setting goals and working to achieve those for our school as a whole, I have tried to mentor some of the younger teachers who did not teach reading the first year it was offered at our school. I have tried to be an inspiration, a cheerleader, and encourager. I have offered to help with their classes, to help with lessons, to offer supplies, or whatever other things I could do to serve as a sort of "cheerleader for reading" at my school. As a result, we now have several teachers who are also implementing those important reading strategies, and our school is indeed seeing the results from the test data. We're now a community of learners, rather than individual teachers doing our "own things." So, is professional development important? Most assuredly! Not only have I have learned new methods and strategies and how to improve them, but I have also shared them with my peers. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. There has always been a debate on what kind of teaching styles work best, what the best curriculum to teach is, or how to effectively organize your classroom. Yet, nobody has discovered what the most effective teaching methods are. As future teachers, we must constantly be making decisions that will shape us into the teacher we would like to become. Over the course of the next four years, and even once we become teachers with classrooms of our own, we will be exposed to many different teaching methods and strategies. There is no one right or wrong way to teach, and it is up to us to decide how we would like to structure our classroom. While there are many teaching styles, it seems that there is predominantly two types of teachers according to John Dewey: those that are reflective, and those that are not. Unreflective teachers tend to accept the routines that are given to them by the school they are working for. They spend their days working to solve problems who have been created by others for them. Reflective teachers on the other hand, are constantly evaluating their beliefs, teaching methods and behaviors and modifying those things so that it works with the situation they are in. Dewey believe that in order to be a reflective teacher, you must have three different components to your attitude: open–mindedness, responsibility, and wholeheartedness. In being open–minded, you must be willing to listen to both sides of the argument and willing to use an alternative way of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. The Most Memorable Teacher That One Memorable Teacher "How many of you think I'm white?" ... Not a single hand went up while a huge grin formed on her face. This is how Mrs. Yaghi introduced herself to the class on the first day. She proceeded to explain her ethnic background which included middle eastern roots, however under the United States census she would be classified as white. Mrs. Yaghi was my sociology teacher at the end of every day of my senior year of high school, she taught me more than any of my other teachers throughout the years ever did. What I loved most about the course was how she tied in her own personal background and made the class relevant to us all; I can easily say that Mrs. Yaghi greatly impacted me and changed the way I view things. All throughout high school I would say Mrs. Yaghi had the best teacher qualities. She was young, energetic, and passionate about the subject she taught, which to me is crucial when actually enjoying a class. Students really got to know Mrs. Yaghi when others misbehaved. Very few would have the audacity to interrupt her lessons, talk back, and deliberately not do the homework or even follow the rules. Mrs. Yaghi would question these students in the most respectful way imaginable. For example, a particular student got up in the middle of one of her lectures and headed out the door. First of all that to me was disrespectful but to Mrs. Yaghi she saw that as an opportunity to teach a lesson to the class. She valued education as she always emphasized Get more content on HelpWriting.net
