2. WHAT IS GAME SENSE?
Game Sense is using games as focus of the
lesson.
Involves modifying sports into simple games and
activities.
3. WHY GAME SENSE?
Lets the learners play the games first so they can develop
skills and understand concepts via practice.
Let participants learn from experience – by mistakes and
guidance.
Inclusive activities/games for all levels of sportiness rather
than elimination and alienation.
(Townsend, 2007)
4. HOW TO IMPLEMENT GAME SENSE?
Modifying sports into a small component based on
the sport.
Add new rules which challenges and expands on
the current game or activity.
Continually supervise the learners to assess their
progression.
6. SYLLABUS CONNECTIONS
“The quality of movement is further enhanced
through exploring, composing, performing and
appreciating movement.”
(NESA, 2012)
Game Sense approach fulfils the NSW syllabus
content, whilst students gain confidence in their
abilities.
