• The investments made to learning technology companies in 2015 were the highest
in the history of the learning technology industry by an extraordinary margin. In
2015, global investments made to learning technology companies reached over
$6.54 billion, up dramatically from the previous records of $2.42 billion in 2014
and $1.64 billion in 2013.
• But the problems have (investors are not seeing a ROI or ed tech companies are
losing money) not been solved and investors are losing money
• Why?
• more than 700 companies offering the same business models
• Because the important problems that need solving are not being solved
• Skills gap is costing more than $19 trillion globally, including you

employers

standards, motivate students and create personal learning paths for them

‘Why are the three major stakeholders not seeing the same thing? In large part, this is because they
are not engaged with each other. One-third of employers say they never communicate with
education providers; of those that do, fewer than half say it proved effective. Meanwhile, more

of their graduates. Of those who say they can, 20 percent overestimated this rate compared with
what was reported by youth themselves. Nor are youth any better informed: fewer than half say

when they are looking for a job
• Access to our profiling tools and database are sold to employers saving them money
in the training and recruitment process
• The recruitment industry is disintermediated and value added to the process
• Some of the resulting savings will be reinvested in third world economies
