Transfer  of  Federal  Public  Land  to  States;  Related  Legislation  2012-­‐2015     1     Alaska:   2015:     CACFA  -­‐  Alaska  State  Lands  Advisory  Group  (ASLAG)   Among  other  things,  ASLAG  has  been  tasked  with  understanding,  discussing  and   advising  on  the  viability  of  and  potential  for  transferring  the  ownership  and/or   management  of  federal  public  lands  in  Alaska  to  the  State  of  Alaska.  The  group  is   advisory  to  CACFA  (Citizens  Advisory  Council  on  Federal  Affairs).   http://dnr.alaska.gov/commis/cacfa/MeetingInformation.html       HB  115:  AK  Sovereignty;  US  Transfer  land  to  Alaska       Sponsor:  Chenault,  Johnson,  Olson,  Keller,  Millett,  Talerico,  Herron       Description:  An  Act  relating  to  the  transfer  of  public  land  from  the  federal  government   to  the  state  and  to  the  disposal  of  that  land;  and  providing  for  an  effective  date.   Status:  Passed  the  House  and  is  awaiting  review  by  the  Senate  Resources  Committee   during  the  next  legislative  session  (starting  January  2016).   http://www.legis.state.ak.us/basis/get_bill.asp?bill=HB%20115&session=29           Arizona:   2012:     SB  1332  federal  lands;  conveyance  and  taxation   Sponsor:  Senator  Melvin   Description:  Requires  the  United  States  to  extinguish  title  to  all  public  lands  in  Arizona   and  transfer  title  of  those  lands  to  the  state.   Status:  Passed  House  and  Senate,  vetoed  by  Governor  Brewer   http://www.azleg.gov/DocumentsForBill.asp?Bill_Number=SB1332&Session_ID=107   HCM  2002  federal  lands;  devolution  to  Arizona   Sponsor:  Representatives  Barton,  Burges,  Crandell:  Fann,  Gowan,  Yee,  Senator  Allen   Description:  Urges  the  United  States  government  to  immediately  dispose  of  the  public   lands  in  Arizona’s  borders  directly  to  the  state  of  Arizona.   Status:  Failed   http://www.azleg.gov/DocumentsForBill.asp?Bill_Number=HCM2002&Session_ID=107
