SUMMARY
To serve people has always been a focus of mine and to find a team I can make
my own makes the job even more fulfilling. Finding a profession which can also be
a vocation where you feel your work can really help improve things is hard to find,
but I believe I have. Being a part of a team where creating better more advanced
software is that improvement the world needs. Being a servant leader is truly
gratifying, and I get a kick out of being the one the teams turn to find a solution to
the blockers that arise. Being someone people can trust and rely on to get things
done has always been a goal of mine and as a Scrum Master I’m achieving that.
I’m a fun hard working guy who loves to work as part of a team, I have quite a high
level of empathy for situations and read body language to steer teams in the right
direction and away from conflicts. Being a Scrum Master is the career I wish to
pursue and finding a new team with more complex projects is my main focus.

William shows great potential to be an exceptional Scrum Master and is a huge asset to George Training and Development. He
has excellent people skills and has adapted to the role of team coach well, in a short space of time. He has assisted on a
number of training courses and has gained a good understanding of Agile concepts, and Scrum in particular, as evidenced by
his PSM1 certification. In addition, he is very creative and has helped lead George TD into new areas of business, in particular
spearheading research into app development and web design. He is also very comfortable in taking responsibility for project
management, which, for us, has included new training courses and conference events.
Sprint Planning meetings – I facilitate Sprint planning meetings,
starting off finding a company goal amongst the team or re-addressing
one. We use impact mapping to plan Sprints to show the team the
relevance of each task and everyone has an outcome, we then collate
all the ideas and tasks into a backlog which I upload to Jira so the
team can track their progress.
Daily Stand-ups –I facilitate a daily stand-up every morning so
everyone knows what projects everyone else is working on and gives
everyone a chance to share impediments they have faced or facing
and for me share solutions or for me to take a note and find a solution
after the meeting.
Sprint Review – I facilitate Sprint reviews after each sprint to go over
any unfinished tasks and done tasks, and as a team we find solutions
to the big problems everyone is having, which we then will highlight in
the Sprint planning meeting.
Retrospectives – I help facilitate retrospectives, which I believe are
the most important Scrum event, as they give the team to openly and
safely discuss how they feel the team is working together. The team
gets to share new ideas about new practices and technology which
could make our working progress more efficient. I lead retrospective
tasks which aim the teams thinking at collaboration and
communication and show how they all need each other to finish a task.
Removing Impediments – As the teams Scrum Master it is my job to
remove any problems that arise through the teams projects and to
remove any problems I can see building so output remains unaffected.
For example when Jira crashed and we lost access to our sprint
backlog I had to quickly find a solution within the system settings and
reboot the system so everyone could get back on track. Through this
impediment we created safe guards with me having better knowledge
of how Jira works and now we use a similar system called Trello which
allow tablet devices to view the backlog, enabling an easier working
method.
Mobile App Development – As a part of our company services and
goals we help local businesses become more technical. I help develop
the Apps by using the Swift programming language and Xcode as the
base. These projects have given me good programming knowledge of
UI functions and how software operates. I have also had experience
with Objective-C. Through this I have experience as a business
analysis, talking to customers and writing user stories, to developer
with writing code.
