It is my pleasure to provide this letter of reference for Mr. William Gana. I have known William
for close to two years. He was a student at the University of Kansas School of Business from
2013‐2016 where I serve as dean.
William is highly motivated and a self‐starter. In a school of a few thousand students, he
showed the initiative of reaching out to me and has carefully followed through on any
opportunity provided to him. His interpersonal skills are excellent and I have learned that they
were a key factor in his being selected to be TA in a finance class. He did not have the
highest grades in class but the instructor believed in both Williamʹs ability to put in the hard
work to master the material and his compassion and caring to help others do so as well.
William also played a key role in setting up a new student club, Rock Chalk Investments, to
demystify the financial markets for first generation and minority students. Please feel free to
