Toolbox Talk:
RONAVIRUS
What are the
Symptoms?
Symptoms for COVID-19 include fever/chills
and shortness of breath, cough, tiredness,
weakness, nausea, diarrhoea, loss of taste or
smell, body aches, fatigue, red eyes or sore
throat.
COVID-19 mainly spreads from person to person
through coughing or sneezing. It may also be spread
when people touch something with the virus on it
then touch their mouth or nose. Symptoms usually
appear 7-14 days after exposure.

What are the best practices for
protecting yourself?
Stay at home when you
are sick
It is important if you are experi-
encing any symptoms listed
above that you notify you supervi-
sor immediately. Workers should
also stay at home if they have had
close contact with someone with
COVID-19. If you notice that a
fellow worker is experiencing
these symptoms- it is important to
report it immediately. All employ-
ees have a responsibility to slow
the spread!
Wash your hands
Increase the frequently that you
wash your hands especially after
using the bathroom, before and
after eating and after blowing your
nose, coughing, or sneezing. Use
soap and water for at least 20
seconds and use disposable
towels to dry your hands. For
sanitizer use an alcohol based
that contains at least 70% alco-
hol.
Practice physical
distancing
Do not gather in groups and keep
a minimum of 1.5 metres
between each other and other
persons. Cover your cough and
sneeze with a tissue or a flexed
elbow.
Keep the workplace clean
insure you are properly using
PPE. Wipe down common areas
including office desks, tools and
doorknobs.
