1. Athletic Director Wayne Martin Teaches Sport Marketing
at Passaic County Community College
Paterson, NJ - Add Sport Management adjunct professor to the accolades of Wayne Martin,
now entering his fourth season as the Director of Athletics at Passaic County Community
College (PCCC). Mr. Martin is currently teaching “Principles of Sport Marketing” on Monday
evenings at the PCCC Main Campus, located in downtown Paterson, New Jersey.
“I am thrilled to bring my sports experience and business knowledge to the classroom,” said
Martin who, in addition to extensive experience as an athletic director and a coach, also holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada-Las
Vegas and a Master's of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Long Island
University.
Students enrolled in PCCC’s Sport Marketing course are introduced to key aspects of sports
marketing coupled with principles and basic applications. Discussions regarding intercollegiate
athletics, fitness operations, amateur sports and professional sports are emphasized to broaden
awareness. Students also learn how to develop a marketing plan and a sponsorship proposal
during the course.
The Sports Management program was introduced three years ago at PCCC. Students have the
option to pursue an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Business Administration with a Sports

2. Management emphasis or a Certificate of Achievement in Sports Management. Plans are
underway to expand transfer programs with four-year colleges and universities for students
who wish to continue their studies in sports administration towards a bachelor’s degree.
“The field of Sport Management offers a wide range of job opportunities from executive level
to support staff,” said Martin who believes “the possibilities are endless for students pursuing a
career in the sports industry.
Employing tactics of business and athletics in the classroom, Martin encourages his students to
consider themselves as a “Marketing Brand” with respect to specific endeavors and to always
strive for success.
