Promises: Galaxy
The advert is confusing, yet effective. This advert draws you in and it’s
an illusion. It looks a bit like a kaleidoscope but chocolate colours not
bright colours. It catches your attention because it looks interesting
and isn’t predictable, you have to look at the corner of the page.
There are three main colours on the picture, light brown, brown
and a black. The Galaxy logo in the corner of the page has the caramel
colour packaging and the new red label on the corner of the bar. The
colours kind of hypnotise you as they all blend in together as then
spiral round.
There are lots of different camera angles as it looks as if it has
being split into six different sections and every piece looks different.
On the slogan it says, “Different every time” this is why it all looks so
different. There’s not really a background but the middle looks further
away from you when you look closely at it. The lighting is kind of in a
loop, going light, dark, light, dark going round in a circle shape.
I think that target audience is mainly for women because
stereotypically it is one of a woman’s favourite things. There are no
people on this advert. It’s clearly just about the chocolate, and wants
you to know what it is.
On every advert for Galaxy the product is at the bottom right
hand corner. This is so everyone will see it. Galaxy is made as a more
sophisticated chocolate and as it’s called “Galaxy promises” when the
stereotypical woman eats this chocolate it will grantee she is more
sophisticated. The packaging is a golden colour, not just because its
caramel, because it will make you feel special. Makes you really want
to eat it. It also says that the chocolate is “textured, smooth” to make
you feel special and different. Even more sophisticated that just
boring old plain Galaxy.
The reason why the product is at the bottom of the right hand
corner is that you touch it every time you turn the page, it’s the first
thing you notice and they really want you to see it. So then you can
buy the chocolate and then buy it, feel more sophisticated and then
buy more.
