This document is a project report submitted by Varsha Karadia, a 2nd year fashion design student at Dezyne E'cole College, for a print development project. The project involved ideating geometric patterns, selecting five for further development, and rendering the prints using different color schemes and Photoshop. Karadia developed the selected prints using monochromatic, complimentary, and neutral color palettes to convey different moods. The developed prints were then applied to a shift dress. The report documents the process and outcomes of the print development project.

6. PRINT DEVELOPMENT
Print is a surface design technique, we can use print in different surface which give a new look to the
surface. These prints will generate different moods because the use of different colour scheme i.e.
monochromatic , complimentary colours etc.
Print development is a type of technique which we can apply on the fabric through various procedures.
It can be weaving, screen printing, block printing, hand printing and many more.
In print development geometry plays an important role. To develop any new print we have to use different
shapes and lines, arranging them in different manner will create a new design.
7. PRELIMINARY CASE STUDY
We are assigned a task to work with geometry and using a square of size 3” x 3”, we had to inscribe the idea
inside. It nearly 15 such ideas using geometry inscribed inside the square. Had to be ideated from this
ideated squares we had to select any 5 idea and than repeat them through simple repetition.
After this repetition we had to check this idea with monochromatic colours, complimentary colour and
neutral colour scheme in 5 selected ideas. Followed by use of photoshop for generating prints further and
finally applying the same on shift dress
14. The print developed here is
generated by repeating the
ideated motif from earlier pages,
and I have depicted here using
single complimentary colour
scheme is focusing on a classic
mood.
15. The print developed here is
