4. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I, Bhagyashri Simpson, student of Interior Design Department at
Dezyne E’cole College, am extremely grateful to each and every
individual who has contributed in successful completion of my
project.
I express my gratitude towards Dezyne E’cole College for their

5. SYNOPSIS
Design elements are the basic units of any design.
In this subject, I have learned about the various elements of
designing and how they are used, along with the incorporation of
principles of design.
The basic elements of design are point, line, shape, form, colour,
texture and pattern. While studying these basic elements of design,
I also learnt how these can be used to create a design.
Case in point, there are a variety of line types. These different lines
can be used to create various shapes. These shapes then form
motifs, finally creating a pattern out of it.
All these designs created should be in a proper proportion for an
appealing look. I have also studied proportion, scale and
Fibonacci series and its use and importance in designing.
