NIFTY Outlook
The benchmark indices ended at their record highs on Tuesday. The S&P BSE Sensex ended at
36,825, up 106 points. The index hit its intra-day high of 36,902.06 today. The broader Nifty50
index settled at 11,134, up 50 points. It had hit a fresh near six-month high of 11,143.40 in intra-
day deals. Among sector indices, the Nifty Metal index moved up 3%, led by a sharp rise in
Hindalco Industries and Jindal Steel & Power. The Nifty Realty index ended 2.5% higher, led
by Unitech and DLF.

Standard Chartered extends Rs 3,500 crore loan to Vedanta:
Standard Chartered Bank has opened a credit line of Rs 3,500 crore for
Vedanta to help finance the purchase of Electro-steel, the second biggest
bad loans resolution under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy code.
The loan is for 10 years and Vedanta has given a guarantee, two people
familiar with the matter told ET. The bank is said to have offered funds in
the range of 8.7-9.10%.
Once Electro-steel shows a consistent revenue stream with a rating
upgrade, the Vedanta guarantee will automatically fall off,” said one of the
persons cited above.
