2. Study experiences University of Groningen
Master thesis MSc MBA Grade 8.0 Feb 2014 – Jul 2014
Conducting a case study that bridges the relatively unexplored field of management complexity and
reciprocal learning in multi-partner R&D alliances by exploring how the management difficulties and
control mechanisms are influencing reciprocal learning in MR&D alliances. The case study was
performed within the multidisciplinary healthcare alliance Gezondheidscentrum de Monden. I offered
empirical evidence and enriched the understanding of management difficulties and control
mechanisms in MR&D alliances. In doing so, I provided insights on how reciprocal learning is
influenced with a revised model of reciprocal learning MR&D alliances that emerges from the findings
and the propositions that can be tested in future research.
Research Paper Pre-MSc Grade 7.4 May 2013 – Jul 2013
Conducting a case study that bridges the research gap of transformational leadership behaviour and
innovative multi-partner healthcare alliance by exploring how the dimensions (e.g. charisma,
inspiration, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration) of transformational leadership
contribute to the success. I examined the relationship by focusing on the leadership style of the
partner GGZ Drenthe in the multidisciplinary healthcare alliance Gezondheidscentrum de Monden with
data from four individual in-depth interviews. GC de Monden has successfully introduced an integrated
chain of care approach in the Mondengebied (east Groningen), which is characterized by low
socioeconomic status, shrinking and aging population.
