3. Joyceln Edwards
• Major: Hotel and Restaurant Management with a
Certificate in Event Management
• Career Goal: Social Chair and Secretary of the
National Association of Catering and Events
It is my dream and goal to one day open my own
events venue, ‘Joyful Events’, before this I plan on
returning to school to earn a Masters in Business
Entrepreneurship and a Doctorate in Ethical
Leadership
4. Mariah Elisa Delgado
• Major: Exercise Science
• Minor: Chemistry and Spanish
• Career Goal: Since my freshman year of high school is to
become a licensed Physical Therapist
I have been accepted to Midwestern University for their
doctorate of Physical Therapy program and I will be set to
graduate in 2023 as a DPT.

• Career Goal: I will be attending CU in the fall to earn my Doctorate
of Pharmacy and plan on pursuing a career as a Clinical, Behavioral
Health Pharmacist
I would like to dedicate this message to my mom, Katrin, and
grandmother, Lydia. You have both inspired me to pursue my goals
without fear and to be strong in the face of adversity. I am a strong,
proud, Hispanic woman because of the amazing example you both
have given me, and I cannot thank you enough. I love you.
6. Nadya
Armenta
Major: Broadcast Journalism with an
emphasis in Sports Reporting and Spanish.
Career Goal: To be a sideline reporter for the
NFL/ NBA one day. Sports have always been
in my life and it’s something i enjoy talking
about.
Something that I’ve always lived by is what
Selena Quintanilla once said, “If you have a
dream, don’t let anybody take that away
from you.”
No matter the cards we are dealt, do the best
you can do at playing your cards. We have to
believe that the impossible is possible! You
can truly do whatever you put your mind to.
7. Isabel Rojas
Major: Biology
Career Goal: Isabel will continue to further her studies in the realm
of science and education
I want to thank my family, friends and boyfriend for being my main
source of strength especially in times of difficulty. I could not have
done it without your moral support and words of encouragement.

13. Xitlalic Gonzalez
• Major: Psychology
• Career Goal: I strive to continue into grad school
and become a cognitive neuropsychologist
My time at NAU was very conflicting. My support system was
broken and I was alone trying to persuade myself into keep
studying. Finally, after 2 kids and getting myself in a healthy
mindset, I am finishing my degree at 24.
I am extremely proud as I am a Latina, first generation and first
within my siblings, and a mom. All those titles made it nearly
impossible for me to succeed but with God, I could!
