2. Deng goes to the migration agent to ask about sponsoring his wife

Migration agent Tony says he will need proof that he is in a
relationship.
He says his mobile or other phone bills are a good way to show
this.
3. Deng rings his wife overseas and says he will ring her everyday so
that he can show proof that he is in contact with her.

4. Deng takes his phone bill to show Tony.
He tells Tony he is worried it is a very high bill.
Tony says it is good it will help him to bring his wife to Australia.
5. Deng gets a bigger bill
and he is worrying
about how he can pay.
6. Deng rings the phone company who says he has to pay the bill.
They say they can put him on a plan to pay each month but it is
still a lot of money to pay each month.
7. Deng thinks I will write to my wife
instead every day and keep a copy
to show I am in contact with her.
This will not cost as much.
8. What can Deng do now?
•Deng can find a less expensive way to talk to his
wife, such as using an international calling card,
short phone calls, or writing letters.
•Deng can ask the migration agent more
questions about how he can show proof that he
is in contact with his wife.
• Deng can go to a Financial Counsellor who can
help him arrange a repayment system to pay off
the bill.
