The Aim of this Strategy is:
• To continue the current work being undertaken at GFC.
• To expand GFC services into new areas of work.
• To decrease dependency on government funding given the financial challenges facing the
public sector.
• To build up reserves and to raise more regular long-term funding to enhance capability,
output and sustainable outcomes.
• To meet the demand of local and international demand of our production.
GFC Current position
The GFC is a Non-Profit Company (NPC) receiving 100% of its key budget from the
shareholder, the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (SACR). The table below
reflects the operational budget for the past 2 years and the projected budget over the MTEF.
The budget has been increasing by 5% over the years. This provides a clear indication that the
access to additional funding from government bodies will be challenging over the MTEF.
