Starting Point in USA
 In 1991, Odebrecht became the first Brazilian contractor to build a public works
project in the USA
Odebrecht had established a presence in the United States to develop a
permanent business base and bolster its expertise, and never stopped growing in
that country, particularly in Florida. The Group later concentrated its operations
in that state, where it won several contracts in the transportation sector, such as
construction of the Golden Glades interchange and the expansion of Miami and
Orlando airports. In the building segment, Odebrecht teams constructed Fortune
House in Miami, a 29-story apartment hotel, and Ocean Steps, with 15 residential
floors, as well as the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne Resort & Spa, comprised of two
eight-story towers and one fourteen-story building, with a total of 498 hotel
rooms and suites. The Groups activities in the United States expanded at the end
of the decade to include construction of the American Airlines Arena, a sports
and entertainment venue that is home to the Miami Heat basketball club, and the
award the following year of contracts to build the Center for Performing Arts in
Miami, designed to host ballet, opera and symphony performances, and the next
stage of the expansion of the citys airport.
Business culture
The conduct of the Organization’s members is oriented by a single
philosophy, the Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology (TEO).
Integrating and coordinating the work of team is a delicate form of
art. This skill can be learned and developed by leaders that have
certain values already incorporated. To orient them, Odebrecht
developed the Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology (TEO) over a
65-year period, based on ethical, moral and conceptual
foundations.

Economic Projections
 Economic projections indicate that the USA and Europe may be facing two more years of recession that
will impact several parts of the globe. Political turbulence and rapid social change are creating a new
configuration of geopolitical arrangements. Entrepreneurs must be attuned and responsive to emerging
values within society, particularly environmental concerns.
 focused on reviewing and consolidating our standards of sustainability. It is clear to us that our
commitment to the well-being and continued advancement of the societies in which we are present is
one of our greatest assets, and that the affinity between our beliefs and society’s demands, which are
generating new business opportunities, is a key factor for putting us in a privileged position with our
Clients, service users and consumers.

food and industrial inputs.
 Our strategic priority as a business is to be partners for development, a role that is increasingly
significant in the countries where we have established a presence. To carry it out, we must always be
aware of local needs, rely on our knowledge of those markets and exercise our flexibility and creativity
when devising innovative solutions that will make our Clients’ dreams come true right where they need
to be realized.
 Continuing our global operations while maintaining a commitment to local realities is made possible by
decentralization, a characteristic of our model of entrepreneurship, as well as by strict alignment with
the values of the Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology (TEO). Because we share those values, we
build our relationships on the basis of mutual trust, which makes it possible to practice planned
delegation and disseminate an entrepreneurial culture focused on serving Clients no matter where they
may be.
Hosting the future games

host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Rio 2016 Olympics, we
are participating in ventures that are essential to reducing the
housing deficit, supporting economic activity and expanding
