• The Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India
launched Agri-clinics and Agri-business
Centres Scheme in the year 2002.

4. ACABC SCHEME
• The scheme aims to develop agriculture and
allied graduates as well as 10 + 2 students of
agricultural stream to setup Agri-clinics and Agri-
business Centres for self employment and to
provide quality extension services to the farmers.
• Agri-Clinics are envisaged to provide expert
advice and services to farmers on various
technologies including cropping practices, plant
protection, feed and fodder management, etc.,
• Agri-Business Centres are commercial units of
agri-ventures established by trained agriculture
professionals.

5. OBJECTIVES
• To support Agriculture development
• To supplement the efforts of public extension
• To create gainful self-employment
opportunities to unemployed Agricultural
Graduates, Diploma holders, and Science
Graduates with PG in Agri related subjects.

6. TRAINING
• Only selected candidates will be provided two
months training in different aspects of agri-clinics
& agribusiness.
• Government spending Rs.35,000 per trainee.
• Agri-entrepreneurship Development including
Market Survey, Hands on Experience and
preparation of Detailed Project Report

7. • Trained candidates can avail start up loan upto
Rs.20 lakhs from Banks with attractive
subsidies through NABARD. In Group ceiling
about Rs.100 lakhs for the project.
• At least 10% value of the Total Financial Outlay
of the project should be in capital form

9. CONSTRAINTS
• Availability of candidates for training
• Support to the trained graduates in availing
timely /adequate credit and easy availability
of the subsidy to him.
• Small enterprises established with their own
investment or a very low credit need greater
support for their sustainability

12. CONCLUSION
• Need a state level coordination committee
between MANAGE and Nodal training
Institutes in order to ensure smooth
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of
the training programme under the agriclinics
and agribusiness centres scheme in India.
