“Transfer of the VMs image, local persistent state (its file system) and its on-going
network connections in WAN with minimal downtime, consistency and
transparency.”
5. How do they achieve it?
● System operation
○ Bulk Transfer
■ Transfer blocks for all systems support.
■ Delta transfers after bulk transfer.
○ Interception and Recording (blktap)
● Write Throttling
○ For high write systems, slowing the write operations.
● Wide-area Network Redirection
○ IP-tunneling, redirecting the requests to current network connections.
○ Dynamic DNS for new connections.
