ARTPLAY MEDIA PRODUCE PROJECTS IN NEW MEDIA
GENRE. THE FORMAT IS A FUSION OF MULTIMEDIA
TECHNOLOGY AND CINEMA WHICH APPEALS TO THE
PUBLIC OF ALL AGES.
3. Artplay Media is a new department of the Artplay Design Center established
in 2014 to create multimedia projects of wide scope. We use technologies that
blend multimedia, cinema and interactive techniques, a fusion that makes it
possible to realize most ambitious creative ideas and stage unique exhibition
projects that appeal to a wide audience.
Artplay Media’s projects are devoted to art. Our debut show «Great Modernists:
Revolution in Art» opened in February 2015 and went on to become
a success in Moscow before embarking on a tour of Russia. The company’s
second project is «Michelangelo: The Creation». It has also become a big hit with
the public. The third project is «Bosch. Visions alive».
We continue our work in this direction and never stop creating and distributing
new multimedia exhibitions. We are open for cooperation and successfully use
our experience and knowledge to work together with museums, schools, state-
owned companies and corporate sector in joint multimedia projects of various
sizes and subjects.
ARTPLAYMEDIA
ARTPLAY DESIGN CENTER IS ONE OF THE FIRST
ART CLUSTERS IN MOSCOW ESTABLISHED IN 2003
THAT HAS SINCE GROWN TO OCCUPY A WHOLE
NEIGHBORHOOD OF 3.2 HA WITH 75,000 SQUARE
METERS OF FOR-RENT PREMISES.
Artplay carefully reconstructed old factory buildings
to give them a new lease of life and turn the whole
complex into a vital component of Moscow’s modern
cultural landscape. Artplay also accommodates the
British Higher School of Art and Design, budding art
galleries, exhibition spaces, artists’ studios, cafés,
bookshops, an art school for children and much more.

5. EXCITING
A modern exhibition cannot afford to be boring. Discovering mind-boggling aspects
of well-known things, bewildering, intriguing, provoking, making you laugh –
all genres come in handy as long as they prove helpful in the search for truth. The
educational aim of all Artplay Media’s projects is to ‘teach through play’ while using
cutting-edge edutainment technologies – everything from infographics
and motion design to sophisticated 3D modelling and virtual reality solutions.
RELIABLE
We take great care about the authenticity of all
information we use and that
is why we consult experts and progressive scientists
specializing in subjects that we cover in our exhibitions,
as well as art historians and museum workers. Their
comments and suggestions help us better design our
exhibitions, and carefully choose and arrange items for
display.
EDUCATIVE
Having set ourselves a goal of popularizing
art, we use brand-new technologies that
help expand horizons of visual perception
of information and create
an incredible, emotionally-charged
atmosphere for our exhibitions, where
visitors can get to know the world of art
in a new fascinating way and see classical
works of art presented in a trailblazing
format.

7. Besides, the exhibition is a fundamental educational platform. The anteroom gives an
insight into the context of the epoch and helps understand the artists’ mode of thought,
which led them from figurative depiction of objective reality to The Black Square. The
exhibition also includes workshops for children with art tutors teaching young artists to
work in various techniques (drawing, collage, tridimensional composition) in the manner
of modernist artists.

Video overview on the Artplay channel (Youtube.com)
It is a unique and comprehensive exhibition made up of ten short films, each of which reproduces central
images in the oeuvre of respective painters. Over 1,000 works from more than 20 museums from all over
the world are shown at the exhibition. Innovative multimedia technology helped organizers ‘enliven’ the
paintings and create an incredibly colorful and emotional ambiance – the paintings are projected onto
giant screens one after another as they come to life and move to the rhythm of the soundtrack, carrying
away the viewers and plunging them into a whirlpool of colors and music.

LARGE-SCALE SISTINE CHAPEL FRESCOES /
INFOGRAPHICS AND INTERACTIVE EDUTAINMENT SYSTEMS
/ VIRTUAL TOUR IN THE SISTINE CHAPEL
In September, 2015, Artplay Media presented a new multimedia exhibition
entitled Michelangelo: The Creation that gives the visitors a unique opportunity
to get to know the great masterpieces by legendary sculptor and painter
Michelangelo Buonarroti and see them from a different perspective –
in the form of visual installations. Accompanied by enchanting classical music,
which helps set the mood of the magnificent Renaissance, the exhibition
takes the viewers on a fascinating and informative rendezvous with the Italian
genius, an encounter that can evoke powerful and unexpected emotions.
9. The grand scale of Michelangelo’s works, be it sculptures, frescoes or
architecture, poses quite a challenge for anyone who looks to study his
oeuvre; that’s because in order to see his works with your own eyes you’ll
need to visit Florence, Rome, Milan, Paris, St. Petersburg, New York, and
London at the least. We have come up with a new non-conventional approach
to studying art based on cutting-edge visual installations comprising all
sorts of visual effects – from images projected onto giant screens and
captivating infographics to interactive walls and a virtual tour of the Sistine
Chapel. This approach helped us to prepare a wide panorama of Michelangelo’s
masterpieces and present it in a spectacular, fascinating and concise manner.
The visitors are sure to obtain new knowledge and get vivid, emotionally-
charged experience and, as a result, see for themselves why Michelangelo is
often referred to as the Renaissance man. Organizers are adamant that this
unique and valuable experience of direct interaction with the great master’s
work can inspire the viewers to further explore and study art on their own.

IN 2016, EUROPE MARKS 500 YEARS SINCE THE
DEATH OF PAINTER HIERONYMUS BOSCH. THE
MULTIMEDIA EXHIBITIONS BOSCH: VISIONS ALIVE
IS ONE OF THE CENTERPIECE EVENTS IN RUSSIA
CELEBRATING THE ANNIVERSARY.
BOSCH
VISIONSALIVE
Around 30 paintings are attributed to Bosch even though only seven of them
actually bear his signature. None of the paintings were titled by the master
during his lifetime; all the titles were given to his work by art historians later
on. Little is known about his personal life and career but for a handful of facts
– he was a third-generation artist, he married into a wealthy family, he had
no children, and he was a member of the Brotherhood of Our Blessed Lady, an
influential religious group in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. So who is Hieronymus Bosch?
Some say he is a surrealist artist, ‘an honorary professor of nightmares’.
Some insist that his paintings contain encrypted secret formulas used by
alchemists, astrologers and sorcerers at the time. And some believe he was
a heretic, a follower of some banned sects, even though he is known to have
been an extremely religious person.
11. BOSCH
VISIONSALIVE
The opening hall of the exhibition BOSCH: Visions Alive introduces the show
with all available information about Bosch’s life and career, including least
plausible theories. While the multimedia hall features a visual feast of
nightmarish but still magnetic images from Bosch’s masterpieces. Slippery
reptiles, pot-bellied monsters, fish with human legs, barrel-bodied figures,
and spidery creatures – this phantasmagoric world of Bosch’s never ceases
to amaze. Art historian Lev Lyubimov once noted that in Bosch’s paintings
“one hideous thing is combined with another and, in this hideous combination,
suddenly becomes eerily captivating. This hideosity, this spawn of foul-
smelling swamps, of dark, rotting depths looks simply entertaining, all but
cozy – so sincere is the inner joy in the painter’s work, and so masterly are his
paintings!”
