This document summarizes the brainstorming and design process for a breakfast pouch product. The group used brainstorming techniques like Scamper to generate over 40 ideas and narrowed it down to a top 3. Their final idea was a resealable pouch containing a breakfast bar, yogurt, and juice with a clip to attach to bags. It is targeted at college students and young professionals aged 18-25. Details of the packaging, graphics, and potential for expansion are provided.
4. Brainstorming Continued
To get to our Final Top 3 ideas, we used factors such as
sustainability, convenience, easy-of-use, on-the-go,
feasibility, and price.
6. Final Idea
We choose the first idea in our Top 3 ideas, the idea of a
breakfast pouch. Using a pouch to store the food with a
sealed-off pouch on the bottom to store Naked juice
with a long straw that goes through the right side of the
packaging and a clip on the left side so that it can attack
to a book bag, purse, brief case, etc. It also has a
resealable top so that it can be saved for later.
7. Marketing Strategy
College students or working professionals 18-25 in age.
Targeted to both males and females.
Most useful for people who are on-the-go and need
something that they can grab and go.
8. Continuing Idea
On the right, this shows the resealable aspect of the
package.
One the left, this shows the idea of the clip and that it
can be clipped anywhere for the perfect on-the-go
solution.
9. Packaging
The primary package of the bottom of the pouch is used
for the Naked Juice.
The yogurt and breakfast bars are already pre-packaged
so the pouch will be the secondary package.
Transparent backside and bottom so that consumers can
see what is inside the package clearly.
The material being used for the pouch will be bonding
layers of a mix of aluminum and plastic together.
10. Dimensions and Graphics
Dimensions
7in x 9in x ~4in Pouch
Juice container- 7.1fl oz
Graphics:
Simple, clean, organic
Blue is used for a soothing, relaxed feel
Arched label to feel movement
Rockwell Extra Bold font to standout but also it holds a level of
simplicity
Specification of what juice and cereal bar will be labeled under their
logos
“Breakfast on the go! By Pepsi Co.”
14. Product Placement
Displayed in the dairy section of the grocery store to
ensure that the juice and the yogurt stay cold and hung
by the Carabiner clip on a rack.
15. Expansion Possibilities
This doesn’t have to be limited to just breakfast items
either.
With this package, we could easily put lunch, snack, and
even dinner options as well as a possible sports package.
In our opinion, breakfast is the meal that needs the most
convenience and mobility for people our age.
