Reference for Mr Tristan Troby
I am pleased to provide a reference for Mr Troby, who we employed as an expert on HIV/AIDS prevention and care
in connection with a major project funded by the Big Lottery Fund from 2007 – 2009 and which took place in
Romania.
I met Mr Troby at an exhibition in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2006, called “No Name Fever”, in which he played an
important role, and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak with him about the concept behind the
exhibition. I subsequently invited him to participate in our programme.
The Big Lottery Project involved the integration of palliative care for HIV patients within mainstream palliative care
in Romania. Prior to embarking on the project, we needed to educate our staff and the staff of other agencies working
with terminally ill patients and their families about HIV in general. Due to the prejudices surrounding HIV in
Romania, it was necessary to find someone who could tackle the subject in a sensitive and comprehensive manner.
We found that Mr Troby was able to give in-depth and convincing presentations, which helped to get the project off
to a good start and reach a very successful outcome. His inter-action with the participants was also excellent and all
his interventions were highly appreciated.
We would therefore have no hesitation in recommending him to other charities, organisations and agencies.
Yours sincerely
Graham Perolls OBE
Executive Director
