Highly experienced Project Manager with 30+ years experience in the Research, Mining, Software development, CAD and
manufacture fields. Extensive working experience in Project Management, Technical Management, Microsoft Office
applications, Staff management, administration and CAD software (the use thereof as well as programming).
While working for SMEC South Africa, I helped prepare many tenders for various mines and well as the implementation
thereof. Managed the construction of a 100t/hr iron ore DMS (Dense Medium Separation) plant for a mining company.
At Kumba Iron Ore (Sishen Mine, Kathu), I managed a number of projects, from inception through the mining stage gate
processes to implementation and hand over.
Managed BHP Billiton (Manganese) Project Office at Hotazel; led a team of 20 to achieve a capital budget spend of R500M in
one year. Projects managed with a positive commitment to safety, strict PMBOK principles and additional approval procedures
as prescribed by BHP Billiton.
Most projects managed have been of an EPCM type, i.e., managed the whole process from concept to close-out.
Developed a number of project reporting / managing and monitoring tools for a professional project office control.
5 years experience as Director of a successful SA software company (product Caddie), managing all aspects of the company
as well as software coding. Total of 22 years management experience in this establishment in various positions, managing
software development programs and playing an integral part in developing (writing code) as well as managing the Customer
Support Division.
