Which languages do tourists speak and do they match with the languages that are spoken in countries they visit? How many tweets are posted each day and who reads them? All those and more questions are answered in this tiny little set of slides. For fun purposes.

Alcohol and drugs

however it is forbidden to drink alcohol in a pub before the age of 18
• On 90% of the US American bills traces of cocaine can be found

Swedish became the official language of
Sweden only in 2009
• This was to strengthen the status of the language in comparison
mainly with English (86% of the Swedish population are English
speakers)
• While foreign English speakers have no trouble to get along in
Sweden, Swedes are among the most welcomed people around the
globe as well. A holder of a Swedish passport can travel to 173
countries without having to apply for a visa. This is only reached by
citizens of the UK and Finland
• And also internally Sweden is open to it’s people. The official Twitter
account is managed by a different (random) citizen every week

Concerning Twitter
• Besides the Swedish tweets there are around 200 million Tweets
posted every day
• One of the biggest and most reliable follower is the CIA. Employees in
their offices are estimated to read around 5 million Tweets daily (for
work)
• Twitter is banned in China. Imagine how a legalization there would
affect the global amount of Tweets per day
